Culzean Autoclassica

Who is going this weekend??? www.culzeanautoclassica.com/7.html
You could have been round it in a couple of hours easily in the past, depending on how much time you spend examining things.
They seem to have upped the ante a bit now though, so hopefully even more to see/do...?
Culzean is a great setting, and worth exploring the grounds too if you haven't been.

i think a few of the guys from the Audi Owners Club are heading there.
I cant make it as A i dont have a classic Audi anymore (working on it though) and B will probably still be scooping at a pals wedding!
There are two QOC members heading down in ur quattro 20V's from the Shire, but not me it's our wedding aniversary. Dam !!! I cant make it as A i dont have a classic Audi anymore (working on it though) and B will probably still be scooping at a pals wedding!
Hi folks,
East Ayrshire Car Club will have a stand there on both days and are offering a discounted membership of £15 during the weekend, which includes the club magazine that usually costs £5 itself. If you haven't been a part of some the recent track-days or sprint events at Kames in Muirkirk, the track owned and operated by EACC, you don't know what you're missing - just ask anyone on here who's been. You'll have to be a member to join in the fun, so the discounted rate is well worth taking advantage of if you're there.
Details of the EACC can be found here: www.eastayrshirecc.co.uk
EACC members are being given free entry to the autotests and the night navigational events (which, if you've never done one, are a great laugh!)
Look forward to seeing you there!

What a poor day
Did anyone else make the effort to go? I'm not sure they could have organised it less if they tried! So much for this becoming the Scottish FoS.....
I thought it was just me!!Did anyone else make the effort to go? I'm not sure they could have organised it less if they tried! So much for this becoming the Scottish FoS.....
I thought the range of cars was quite good, however the layout of the whole event was terrible. Paying £10 (£2 more than Saturday) per person to get caked in mud and not have any decent signposting etc was beyond a joke. Why they couldnt lay a platform systme down as an access road for the cars to be parked up against is beyond me!
I only saw about 5 concours cars (were there mre somewhere else?)! THe Ultima GTR was gorgeous.
Very disappointing day out to say the least.
Anyone else have the same thoughts?
I thought it was a great day! This is realy the first year that this event has been run in angor! I no there was a soft lounch last year, but I no it can only get better as the years go on. I think the organisers have done a great job in bringing this sort of event back to Culzean as its been several years since the last Culzean Classic was run. One thing the organisers cant control is the weather! we do live in Scotland, but the hole day was sunny and the ground dryed out nicely as the day progresed. I think its great to give an event like this as much support as possible to encourage even more cars next year, but i was still very impresed with the turn out this year.

I think if the rain had been coming down then there would've been chaos and would most likely put next years event in jeopardy! If it had been raining the car park area which was on a slight slope would've been almost lethal with the likely hood of bumps and slps being high. In the field where I saw most of the cars on display, the mud under foot would again have put people off big time and would not have been happy after paying £10 to get in.It was my fist time at an event like this but feel they could have bettered it with very little effort required, in my opinion. I'm looking forward to next years event as it can only get better.
I thought it was much better & larger than I expected so I would not hesitate to recommend it to other people next year, however as has been said already, the car parking was a bit worrying as I had my TVR with me and if it had rained all day I think the car might not have made it out although I can't see how it could be improved without serious cost implications.
I was there on Sunday and, although I enjoyed it, there were a few gripes...
a) the marshalls were too slow getting cars into the car park (single file!) and a BIG queue biult up quickly.
b) the car park and access path down to the show areas were a bit muddy and would have been a LOT worse but for some luck with the weather.
c) things were poorly signed - most people were wandering around not knowing where they were going or what was on.
d) Only about 6 cars at the concours area!?
e)I think moost people would like to have seen more running displays
which bring me to my final point - £10 was a bit much for what it was compared to previous - I just expected more after the build up!
Theres certainly the potential for this to be a great event, but some work needs to be done ....
Beautiful location though....
