Bo'ness Hill Climb
Discussion
A few images from a very wet Bo'ness hill climb this morning. This was the first time a hill climb had been run at Bo'ness in 42 years and it was a shame the weather was as bad as it was in the morning after all the had work that had been put in by the organisers.

As Dave said, it was pretty wet. Sodden, in fact. I ended up wet through to the skin. It's a shame the weather was so bad, as it put all but the most die-hard fans off going - so the turn-out was disappointingly low. However, the turn-out of cars was surprisingly high, and there was massive diversity, from the ''Spider Special'' to a Chevron B16.
It was a good event, well worth going to, and in dry - even better, sunny - weather, it would be awesome.
I took a few photos anyway, until my camera got so wet I feared it might not work properly again. And until I convinced myself I needed a hot chocolate from the van.
A panormaic sort-of shot of the Courtyard complex:
A bit sideways:
Kougar-Jag:
Elan Sprint:
And the Spider Special, the most interesting car of the event:
And up close:
I was amazed at the size of the thing:

Thinking about going to this tomorrow instead of the superbikes as knockhill will probably be absolutely packed, any idea what the weathers to be like there tomorrow?
Edit: Forgot to say nice pics aswell, whats it like for taking pictures?

The weather for today was apparently rain, the same as yesterday, yet being five minutes up the road, it's brilliant sunshine, although there is a fair bit of cloud. It's probably drier today than yesterday.Edit: Forgot to say nice pics aswell, whats it like for taking pictures?

For taking photos, it's quite difficult to get close to the action. From the car park, you walk along the "driveway" to Kinneil House, which the hillclimb route bisects, so in each run you're stopped from going across the track and are held back by two layers of bales and fencing, so you see very little of the cars. However, you can get closer from the other side of the track, which is where my photos of the Elan and Kougar-Jag were taken. There's also the option of going down a muddy track to the paddock, where the start is, where most of my pics were taken.

Weather looks, well, wet for tomorrow...
Do hope this becomes a yearly event
Cheers.
I think it is planned to be a yearly event. Weather looks, well, wet for tomorrow...

I went along this morning but left at the lunch break, the bottom of the track was closed off to spectators because of flooding apparently so there was only really two places to watch from so made it feel very small, and after a while it felt like id seen everything i would see. It wasnt bad though and if i lived closer i would definitely go again, just not sure it was worth driving ~75mins for.
