Short term car leasing?
Discussion
I work, usually a 4 month on 3 month off pattern and recently with my own car being broken I've been without a car. I've been looking at rather than getting a new one and not driving it for 8 months a year and letting it sit in my garage depreciating about leasing instead.
Yes there are disadvantages but it could work out cheaper for me in the long run against things like road tax and garage bills etc plus I could lease soft tops in the summer.
Does anybody have any experience of companies in Scotland, I'm based in Dunfermline so reasonably local to me would be good. Or are there any specific companies I could try or ones to avoid!

I lease a golf from http://www.firstvehicleleasing.co.uk/index.php Not sure what is the shortest lease they do, but they are pretty cheap and deliver and pick up the car from anywhere in Scotland. Might be worth checking out.

Couple of neighbours of mine have company which they get on short term leases but they both work for big companies.
One gets any Renault car he wants (usually has what looks like a pretty top of the range Laguna Estate) but there's a strict stipulation that they mustn't go over 10K miles, so he's changing his car every 3-4mths.
The other gets any GM car on a similar sounding deal.
I guess these must be the cars that turn up at dealers as ex-demo etc. Ford always has loads of them, so presumeably they must do similar schemes.
I'd be very interested if there's some way of the general public accessing these schemes.
