Hi folks, was wondering if there are any meet-ups or events organized through this forum in the Edinburgh area? I'm a member of the Mercedes club (mine is a W126) but would also be interested to get a car banter on the go with any other enthusiats in the Edinburgh or Borders area.

Cheers
Norm

Hi There,
I would be up for that, not back for a week or so yet. Ive met up with several P'heads at Knockhill from time to time but a Sunday afternoon drive out and meet would be good, make use of whats left of our summer!

I would be up for that if I am not offshore. Always like an excuse to get the Tuscan out for a blast.

I'd be up for that. could just organise a place and a time, and see who turns up.

I'm in Edinburgh and always up for an excuse to waste some petrol.

Depending on whether most people are north or south, and whether people primarily want a run or a natter, two suggestions would be meeting at South Queensferry (lots of easy parking and photo opps) and a run for a steak/burger at the Chop and Ale, or meet at the pub opposite the Esso in Hillend (forget the name) and a run down to Moffet (fantastic road, even better if you know it!).

Sounds like a good reason to go for a drive to me. I'll keep an eye on the thread but I'd be up for a drive out.

The pub in Edinburgh across the road from the Esso garage at Hillend is called The Steading.

You could combine the best of all worlds and go out via Penicuick, along an amazing, twisty B road switchback, hang a left into W Linton, then a right onto the A701 to Moffat (photostop at the Devil's Beeftub)

Back up the A74/A702 to Biggar than a cross country B road to Carnwath where you join the A70 to Balarno via the Lang Whang.

There you are - sorted.

Or you could take a left at Moffat and head home via the great bikers road to St Mary's Loch (A708) and the B709 to Innerleithen. Then back to the Reekie via Peebles (A72/A703)

Whatever way, fantastic driving roads and usually free from PC Plod !

I'm up for a meet/beer/natter sometime in Edinburgh. Though my current diesel 'bus' won't be attracting any attention or be going for a countryside thrash......
