Anyone else get this email yesterday (assuming you have tickets of course).

I am a bit concerned about sending the tickets off incase it's a con or hoax. There is noting on their website and I can't actually speak to someone on the phone. I googled the address and found the exact same email for another concert in 2007, but again no one knew if it was legitimate.

What do you think? It appeards to come from a genuine address, but it's easy to fake an email sender nowadays -

ear Ticketmaster Customer,

We are writing with regards to the tickets you have purchased for the Coldplay event at the SECC on Friday 5 December 2008 and Saturday 6 December 2008.

It has come to our attention that, due to an administration error, the wrong ticket stock was used at the time of printing. Subsequently, the tickets you are holding are invalid and will not gain you entry to the venue.

Please return your tickets to the following Freepost address, upon receipt, valid tickets will be dispatched to the address given at the time of purchase:

Coldplay Ticket Recall
Ticketmaster UK Ltd
FREEPOST NAT 6890
Manchester
M1 1BB

If you require any further assistance please contact us by clicking on http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/h/customer_serve.htm...

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Would definitely not send the tickets back until I knew for definite.

If the tickets that you have are invalid then why are they asking for them back?!

I wouuld try to email the ticketmaster company through their website, not via the link you have or email address from the sender.

If you cant find anyone else on the internet with the same problem, then I would be even more suspicious!!

You could call ticketmaster Scotland and ask them if its genuine?

Offer to send back the tickets you have once the new ones arrive.....

Thanks guys....

The problem is you can only get an automated ordering telephone number, no email address or customer services line which is actually manned by anyone.

I used yell.com and got a few phone numbers, called them but can't get anyone to speak to.... soooooo annoying.

Any other ideas?

Why not phone the SECC box office to find out if they either know that there's a problem or can give you contact details for someone to talk to.

I was supposed to go to a gig that was cancelled last week,i got an email saying it had been cancel but also got a phone call aswell.

The email address it was send appears to be from a specific person at ticketmaster rather an a generic email address (if that makes sense).

HTH

also do you have the tickets already? seems strange if its in december as they normally wait till around a month or so before the gig before they send them out.
