Is that Coco on the GAGAH website?
Very very sorry if you've lost her. I have Zora, a black greyhound bh from the RGT. She got out in Aberdeen a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately she managed to avoid getting run over on Riverside Drive and managed to make her own way home half an hour later.
Thinking of you.

You got much to do with gagah as we are thinking of getting another dog to go with jake our lab/pointer/moron cross
Hi,I wouldn't say I have much to do with them but my dog did come from them and I try to support them as I can.
I'd definately recommend a retired racer though. I honestly don't think I could entertain the idea of any other kind of dog now.
If you do go down that road, likely you'll get a trembling timid beast and on day one, you'll wonder what the hell you've done. On day two, there'll be a tiny improvement in confidence and more every day after. Before you know it, you'll have a dog with a helicopter tail who loves life to the full.
If you'd like to meet a greyhound, give me a shout and we'll sort something out. Likewise, if you want contact with GAGAH or any kind of advice, don't think twice about noising me up.
Cheers,
Eric

Feeling very sorry for you and hope poor co-co turns up.
I've got a greyhound myself called trevor (named him after tvr lol). he's also a retired racer. i honestly don't think you can get a better natured dog. he's just great! I've had him coming up for a year now and agree with all the previous comments about confidence. Its lovely to watch them slowly come out of their shell to the point where they're quite happy rolling around on their backs lol

Aye Iain. It seems there are a few of us on the same wavelength then. Coco isn't ours - I was just posting here on behalf of the owner. Longshot I know but nothing ventured etc.
Cheers,
Eric

Hey Eric, that's a cracking photo. My father had a lurcher (sadly dead a few years now) that used to adopt exactly the same pose.
It got to the point where he was doing it so often that we threatened to buy him some underpants!
Brilliant! It got to the point where he was doing it so often that we threatened to buy him some underpants!
Have another ...
Cheers,
Eric
I was trying to dig out the odd photo, but they must be on my old PC that doesn't boot anymore. I'll keep looking.
They're fine animals, greyhounds/lurchers. I remember one time staying at my Dad's shortly before his lurcher (called Tiger) passed on. I was sat on the floor late one night with his head resting on my lap and my Dad came in and said 'Looks like you've made a friend there'.
I think my Dad was a bit jealous really, but there's something I've learned with animals and small kids, if you get down to their level they treat you completely differently. Having them (dogs) sprawl over the couch showing their gonads off is complete comedy, they're just trying to raise themselves to our (human) level.
I miss the old lad really, he was a great dog. Dad got him from Limerick dogs home, no doubt he'd been on the streets for a while as he had a few teeth missing and the vet reckoned they'd been kicked out.
Still, he had a great life with my parents. They've got some land and he was well used to giving the odd rabbit a run for its money, and even took out next door's cat one evening... ooops!
Yet he was always a very placid and well behaved animal with me. He never got on with smalls kids though, and would often let them know exactly where they stood in the heirarchy.
My Dad reckoned Tiger's philosophy on life was pretty much spot on. "If it moves chase it, if it doesn't move, pee on it"
