I've been reading some other regional PH forums, and have read about meets in places, you know just meet up and speak about each others cars. I know a hoon is great fun, but some people (myself included) would like to take there P&J and just show it off.

Whaddaya think?

A regular meet or just now and then?

Sounds like a plan though

Dont really see the point of just meeting up for a chat tbh.

All the runs ive been on have involved plenty of banter anyway - and you get to enjoy your car as well.

Great idea for a couple of reasons,

1. I cant make the meets all the time, so more regular meets would suit me..
2. The few lotus meets i have been on tend to be all quite fast paced, i dont know how the PH ones are, but a quick meet might be a bit off puting for lesser drivers like myselfwink

The point I was making, is that some people have nice cars and don't want to hoon then through and instead want to show off their hard work and share ideas and generally have a laugh. I'm sure there may be a few that would want to go for a hoon afterwards.

Sounds like a good idea, plus you can always hoon your car getting to the meet if it is somewhere a bit away from where you or a bunch of you who are going live.
Any ideas on times / dates / venues?

Why don't you organise a meet with a central location so people can go off for runs in little groups, or hang around and chat, or do a bit of both.

The Scottish Elises lot run meets like this at the big forestry commission car park in Aberfoyle. Few BBQs on the go, with the Duke's Pass right out of the entrance for shorter runs, or the full Trossachs trail circuit if anyone fancied a longer run.

What about a meet in the Taybank in Dunkeld? They have quite a large(ish) carpark, great food, good roads to it, nice scenery, and its in a fairly central location.

That was kinda my point - not wanting to start a fight but in the central belt there are already plenty of events and meets for peopl who are more interested in polishing that driving.

Strathy cruise springs to mind. rolleyes

My car won't win any concours events but does enjoy a good thrashing ;o)

As Nefarious was saying, people could do both, hoon the way there and they way back, with a little bit of showing off in the middle. So everyone is covered.
