I need to get a set of exhaust manifolds made for my Ultima. Are their any companies in Scotland that handles this type of work? The engine is a Chevy LS1 the engine builder suggests 4 into 1 in 1.5/8 tube.

Unfortunately not, The Ultima is mid engine and it’s a custom installation.

First try Jim at 2bular. I don't think he'll be able to produce what you need but I'm sure he'll have some ideas on where else you could go.

I've also heard good things about Scottish Auto Specialists. I can't find a website but contact details here.

I take it you've asked the same question in the Ultima forum.

Also, George Ross (gdr) posts here from time to time. He built his GTR not far from me.

I am currently having a set of custom headers made for my new Ford 515 engine. The manifold dimensions are different from the original 427FE so the headers are being made from scratch in stainless.
The work is being done by AVA Turbos, Walkinsaw Road,Glasgow (behind the airport). Tel 0141 8485257. Ask for Alan and tell him Doug said to call.If you are calling in have a look at my Cobra and check out the work they have carried out on it. I have only good things to say about them.
Cheers Doug.

AS your engine is an LS, why not try GDSportscars as they often have solutions for LSxs on the shelf and their quality is very good, speak to Andy Burrows. Also perhaps more pertinent, why not ask the factory about headers, they are generally very good on such things although, some folk have critiscised their material quality on the exhausts. There are a lot of PHers on the ultima forum that have had custom headers made, so post in there for a thousand different answers and recommendations. If you decide to get the headers made close to home you must check all the clearances as there is a lack of space under the rear canopy, and it would be better in my opinion to take the whole car to the fabricator. Have a look at the headers made by Jeff Schwartz in the US, as he routes the tubes down instead of up and over. Makes it very tight but gives a lot of access benefits.

Thank for all your answers. I think there is a company up in Buckie that manufactures custom manifolds. Any ideas?

But I will give Alan at AVA Turbo’s a call

I planned to take the car to have the headers fitted. The engine has been lowered in the chassis and I am running a “flat floor”. I talked with Tony Law Exhausts they have a good reputation but unfortunately down south. It means another trip down south on the trailer.
I looked at Jef Schwartz and at Boosted offerings but have concerns that due to the height of the engine I may have a problems.
