Superfast ferry
Discussion
Biggest problem I had was that there was no way the Vette could cope with the ramp, I am told that the Newcastle ferry is the preferred one for the Scots TVR crowd.
I think if you do the sums it wasnt that expensive, take the cst of fuel to the South coast (And the hassle of hte drive) then the cost of the crossing and there was not that much in it. Certainly in the vette I would have been better off, but for their ramps!

Might also have had something to do with the fact it was fking expensive, if it's true.
Sure is expensive, used it a few times before over the years in the winter for ski trips to Europe so off peak was not too bad but I looked at a trip mid June this year to tour Europe and was quoted over £750 for car/cabin for 2 people. In the end I booked with P&O from Hull, same set up for £350. H2DCA said:

They believe that increasing prices will bring in more money. Better to decrease prices and attract many more people.
Withdrawing one of the boats, then changing the boat for one less suitable hasn't helped either. Nor have fuel costs or the Euro exchange rates
A shame really as, although it was expensive, Scotland really needs this link to mainland Europe. I'm sure the vast majority of Scots would much prefer to depart from Rosyth rather than trek down to Newcastle, Hull or, worse still, the south coast ports.

Great shame. I'm just back from the 'Ring, having taken the Ferry from hull. The Journey too and From Hull was the worst part. 450 miles is a long way just to get a Ferry out of the Country. Here's hoping someone has a Caledonian Macbrane wave and starts up a new service
its not that expensive iv used it 3 times and its always around £200 a head in a cabin. it saves putting miles on the car and an extra couple of tanks of fuel to cover the extra miles to get down south and back up north. The ramp on is not a problem for the tvrs either, my one is very low and never scrapes
shame as its always a good laugh getting some drinks down in the ferry and waking up in belgium.

Used them a lot over the past few years, expensive yes but not too bad. Used DFDS Newcastle/Ijmuden much more tho and it works out about the same for travel time, door to door. Now I keep a car in Glasgow and use Ryan Air to Prestwick, currently I'm paying 0.02Euro for a midweek return flight Weeze - Prestwick and then £6.80 to Glasgow by train, lot cheaper than either Superfast or DFDS. You don't get looked after like you do on DFDS Deluxe Commodore but it sure is quicker
