The Sporting Bears Motor Club have organised Dream Rides at Thirlestane Castle, Lauder, for a third year. The rides are part of the BVAC Motoring Extravaganza. We have over 24 cars giving 12 mile passenger rides if a suitable donation is made to our selected children's charities. This year we are supporting REACT and SACHD. Current line up includes Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Lotus, Morgan, Aston Martin, Ultima, 4.5 litre Bentley and the return of last year's hit - the microcars, plus many more. The rides will start at 11.00 on Sunday. Get there early and don't be disappointed.

This Sunday, 1 June at 11.00. Hope to see you there. It's a great family day out - this year's BVAC theme is 007 and they have the James Bond Aston Martin on show.

Pity about the weather at Thirlestane yesterday. I was looking forward to a shot in the Lambo. Countach in the afternoon but it seemed to disappear early.

Aye the weather was a big let-dowm.

To be honest it was quiet from about 1:00 onwards, and most of the public started to leave not long after that. The Lambo was there until about 3 I think, but he left because there was no point taking people out and tiptoeing round in the rain - that and the fact that because so many people were leaving, it was taking an hour to get back in again past the soaking exodus.

Sorry if you're disappointed - you'll need to get in there early next time!

So many good cars there to choose from. Was yours one of the 2 TVR's ? (S1 or S3???)

I left about 1530/1600 - what a bugger to get out. The weather was almost as bad as the last ever event at Mellerstain House about 4 years ago. My shiny red Lotus Elan now needs cleaning and polishing again before the Jim Clark event at Knockhill this w/e
