When I was valeting, I met with a guy called Jimmy Sives once, and he had a few nice motors at the time (flat nose 911, De Tomasa Pantera, etc.) that was back in 96, no idea if he still collects?
I think he made his money from Sives road surfacing?heard a story that it was his company that came up with the red tarmac they put at bad junctions/corners/etc but have no definite proof.

IIRC there used to be a tv program on stv dedicated to petrol heads, cant recall the name. I do remember they would visit various car enthusiasts, and i am pretty sure they got an interview / test drive with the bloke owning the maclaren f1... Larry Kinch i expect. And also a spot with mr jones and his vast collection of exotic. Time change however guestimating that this was prob some 10/12 years ago.

He has a 599, I know that. Meant to be an awfully nice chap.I think he made his money from Sives road surfacing?heard a story that it was his company that came up with the red tarmac they put at bad junctions/corners/etc but have no definite proof.
It really depends on personal taste surely? If you don't like Ferraris, Lamborghinis and other carbon fibre constructed machinery, if you prefer the classic and vintage stuff, when cars were built by engineers and not technicians in clean rooms etc. We don't buy our cars for show, we buy ours because a member of our family has wanted to own one.
A few years ago we would have beaten most people in sheer numbers of cars but not now, we've cut down our collection.

I believe a certain Larry Kinch (Oil industry entrepreneur) in Aberdeen has a mighty fleet of exotica, i think his private garage holds 20-30 cars.
Aparently he has 20 Ferrari's alone, F40, Enzo, FXX etc. Think he didn't get a F50 as didn't like it. Also hear he had/ has McLaren F1, 2 XJ220's (one race one) and other stuff. What about the owner of Ascari, know he lived/ lives in Aberdeen and imagine he'd have a few things?jerwatt said:

Nathan lapped in 41.3 seconds in the Ferrari at the Speedfair in 2006, I can remember it very clearly as I was standing on the inside of the hairpin taking pics with legs like jelly as he approached me at god knows what speed!
It was the first and only time we were allowed inside the hairpin while a car was circulating, looking back it was probably a bit foolish!
Back in the pits he thought he could have got it down to about 39 secs with a bit more practice!
He even flew over mechanics from the factory to look after the cars that weekend!

I didn't go to that Speedfair, had to be elsewhere in the country! He even flew over mechanics from the factory to look after the cars that weekend!
It had a few Scuderia Ecosse mechanics running it there, I thought he did a 43sec, never mind.
I have been told by a nameless source that Larry bankrolled Stewart Roden to get the team to the FIA GTs and Le Mans, if Nathan was part of the team. Nathan was not as good as Andrew, a few sces slower every lap. Andrew is a pure racing driver though!

Ascari - Klaas Swart no longer lives in Aberdeen (I think), but I think he made his millions there. Obviously he will have lost a few million building Ascaris.....
Presumably he now lives here.To think that might have been on the outskirts of Aberdeen had it not been for the fact that ...
