Save Glencraft from Closure

Glencraft, the Royal Aberdeen Workshops for the Blind and Disabled has been established since 1843 providing training, support and employment for employees with both Physical and Learning Disabilities and also Mental Health Issues.

The staff at glencraft take great pride in the products we produce.

We manufacture excellent quality Mattresses and Beds and buy in from other manufacturers bedroom furniture which we sell in our showroom.

We also have a highly skilled workforce of re-upholstery staff who lovingly bring back to life your favourite pieces of furniture.

Aberdeen City Council has decided to withdraw with effect from 1 April 2008 annual funding of £650,000 which will mean Glencraft will have to close.

Your council is going to put 56 people on the scrap heap, 38 of which are blind or disabled.
