We are running a trackday on the 17th of April 2008.
It will be run from 6pm to 8pm.
  • Open Pit lane with passing on the left (on straights) only.
  • £62 per CAR, extra drivers are Free.
  • The sessions will be fully marshaled by Knockhill staff, with any dangerous driving black flagged.
  • Helmets are compulsory, but can be hired on site
Tickets can be ordered via
http://trackscotland.co.uk/booking/index.php?main_...

The Online Booking uses PayPal, so you can use Credit/Debit Cards or Bank Transfers.. Whichever you setup in your PayPal. If you would prefer not to use PayPal, cheques will be fine. Email for details. ak@trackscotland.co.uk

The price is slightly high compared to the 4hr session we held in Feb due to Knockhill's 'summer' pricing. Hopefully this will mean better weather!

What sort of cars can we expect on a Track Scotland trackday ?

Are there any limitations on minimum value (i.e. like hot marques), do all cars undergo scrutineering ?

Whats the driving standard like ?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm keen to avoid any 'hot hatch' or 'speed sunday' type events, am looking for trackdays with porkers / elises / caterhams etc

(not novas / skylines / older imprezas - not that I've got anything against any of these cars or their drivers you understand, its just personal preference and due to my own lack of ability combined with the cost of my car, would rather avoid the 'keener' drivers who don't mind too much if they spin off and take 3 other cars with them.......)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers guys

hey hey hey... whats wrong with Skylines!!! :P

Ours has set us back 20+k and we dont want it bashed either!

The last one was mostly elises & Exiges, some s2000s, BMWs, Maseratis, Atoms. There was 1 nova but it was driven well and reasonably well presented, not a hot hatch special.

I dont want to impose car price restrictions as I for one dont believe money buys brains or sense.
The events will be run like Hot Marques, and the driving marshalled. Any dangerous driving will not be tolerated. We have asked KH to be strict and provide feedback.

Ask around for opinions on driving/car standards for the previous TrackScotland event on the 22nd Feb if you want to put your mind at rest smile

I can certainly vouch for the driving standards at the last TrackScotland day - there were a few off-track excursions due to the conditions, but everyone was keeping a decent distance on track and behaving responsibly as far as I could tell. I had no problems either with slower cars not pulling over and easing off on straights or from quicker cars being over-aggressive before you can let them past safely, both of which can sometimes be an irritant on HM days.
Not sure will I go on the 17th April, if new car is run in and spaces left I may well go for it. Intend to do more TrackScotland days later this year for sure.

Excellent Adam (and also gdr), the news I was wanting to hear.

Am fairly new to trackdays and taking it generally quite cautiously as I dont want to smash up the car! So avoiding hot hatch type driving was fairly important to me.

PS - I have nothing against skylines etc that are looked after and driven well, same with evos and imprezas. Just trying to avoid the bumper car brigade wink

PPS - how many cars are allowed on track at the one time ?

Noticed there are 30 places, but is there a limit on number of cars on track at once ?

Thanks again

Hi Adam, can you tell me if you still have spaces left on 17th? I am getting my engine set up on the friday before on the rolling road and so will hopefully be out to play after that, weather permitting.

I sneakily exchanged the the black Exige n/a for a black Exige S PP on 1st March. Wifey would not even have noticed (she is oblivious to things like roof scoop, big brakes and fact that on this one you really can't see out the back). Unfortunately immediately after I paid the deposit by credit card, the RBS fraud prevention people phoned home asking if we had made a payment to MMC. She answered and I was rumbled. Saw you other day coming out of filling station in Bankry btw, I was in the orange Freelander.
