Talking of old photos did anyone see the Aberdeen EE on Wed I think it was as i think a certain 'kiltie' was on the history page. Eric can you confirm one way or another?
Aye, indeed it was me - well spotted Trevor. The pic was from 1978 - I was at the tender age of 13¾.
I'll scan and post in a bit.
Cheers,
Eric
Oh dear I feel a geriatric moment coming on!
This is me at Doune in 1978
And while we are at it:
And here is me at Fintray around 1982
Then we have me at Rumster in 1964
The Cooper S was a 999CC screamer with a close ratio box, still couldnt geat the imps though, especially Harry Simpson, traction off the line is everything!
The Vixen, photo at Fintray was the first prototype Vixen, much modified through the years but a lovely car to drive, I think I still have the 1100cc record at Strathclyde park with that car. Written off at Doune (after it was sold)!
The car at Rumster was originally a Dulon F Ford, modified by Graham Bruntom and his Dad and bought by me, but it was never up to the Vixen for handling.
I could have done better at Fintray if I could have afforded a lower 1st gear (it always went off cam at the hairpin) but my limited budget wouldnt stretch to a then hard to find item. Se la Guerre!

Not yet, I have not competed since the mid eighties and have only been at a hillclimb a couple of times since, mainly #cos I spend most of my time abroad. Thats about to change since in April I come back to roost full time in Gods country. I think my som Matt will be doing the hills and sprints soon so I will be seeing you all soon enough.Graeme
