I would just like to say what's going on with our roads, they are in a terrible state. I'm getting really fed up trying to dodge the pot holes and I'm not just talking about A and B roads, just look at the M* between Glasgow and Edinburgh it's like a patchwork quilt.
It's been nearly 40 years since we put a man on the moon and we can manufacture chips at 65um but we can't have a drain flush with road or put down a good quality piece of tarmac that doesn't look like a spped.
To make it worse I pay £300 road tax, will be £400 this year, and £64 for my bike for the privilege of running the gauntlet avoiding pot holes. No wonder everyone is buying 4x4s, you'll soon need one to dive on the road.

Why not e-mail Ennstone Thistle and voice your opinions on the A9 resurfacing then?
Well thank you for that. Never knew it was Ennstone thistle doing the job. To busy watching the road for ramps at night I suppose. I know exactly who to go to. Knew I should have gotten him that spirit level instead for chrimbo. Tunku said:

Is there not a road called, The Lang Wang? Which is is excellent! Not sure if thats spelt correctly, it's near Balerno, fun, but it's extremly dangerous, with the peddle to the metal!
There certainly is. I used to (ahem) test my motorbikes there. cuprabob said:

I've been noticing a lot of this in Edinburgh lately - drain covers that seem to be sinking into the tarmac, why? As for the shocking roads in the central belt, I just weave round the potholes/corrugated patches/trenches etc. Following drivers probably think I've been on the pish.
The roads I drive daily in East Kilbride and Glasgow are total sh**! Due to recent heavy rain they now closely resemble the lunar surface during an asteriod storm. Driving on them is now an exercise in choosing the least uncomfortable line whilst weaving around the road. They used to be bad but they have now got beyond the pale.
A massive run of holes opened up on one of the Calder Rd roundabouts in Edinburgh - where the Pug garage used to be. Shocking - no way of avoiding it without cutting the corner. They fixed it, but left all the other ones within 5 meters of it
Ive also noticed the amount of areas where new tarmac is just peeling off the top of the old stuff. This is new surface they layed down maybe only 2 years ago and now it even worse than it was originaly !
