Anyone been to the Kames track in ayrshire?

I live in ayrshire and i'd like to put my car on the track at least once in the time i own it!

Never even seen the track so have no idea what its like.

Any info on what the tracks like, what it costs to get on it and such would be greatly appreciated smile

Good little track, a bit narrow but that isn't a problem if you keep it all on the grey bits - which I have not always done frown - good variety of corners and even an elevation change which you don't get on airfield tracks.

At sat/sun events the track direction is changed which gives you a completly different track to drive.

My advice is go for it.

Contact EACC - they run 'closed to club'track days that are not expensive. Neither is their membership and, if you don't want to compete with your car, they are always crying out for marshals.

Kaimes is a sprint track, where cars go round individually against the clock, so as suggested above, joining the club and going to a members only day would be exactly what you are looking for. Several members will be turning up with std. road cars so you neednt worry about 'competition' since the reality is you are competing against yourself. i.e. trying to improve on your best time. its good fun and you will meet like minded folk.

Interesting thread, First i have ever heard of Kames,i thought that all we had in Scotland was Knockhill?, apparently its £20 to join the club. I may actually do that as it looks like it could be allot cheaper and easier to get to than Knockhill for me.

I printed off a membership form from the web - £20 to join which is a bargain.
