Since the Fezza is off the road for the winter I'm taking the oppertunity to get a couple of bits done and I'm looking for a good autoelectrical company in Aberdeen that can benchtest and rebuild / recondition my alternator ?

Can anyone reccomend somewhere thats not just going to try to sell me a whole new unit if they find the slightest thing wrong?

Was thinking Taylors might be the place to try, anyone had any experiences with them?

Couldn't you just get another one from Persley scrappy? it'd be alot cheaper...

LOL !!! I wish !!!! New one from Ferrari is about £900 and will break again in about 6 months!...Italians make great engines and are fantastic at styling but when it comes to electrics, they suck !

I'd think they'd be your best bet. They did tell me they would be able to rebuild a starter motor for me. In the end I bought a new one as it was needed in a hurry. They've also supplied a solenoid for me in the past without any bother.

I dropped it off today, the bloke behind the counters first comment was "why dont you just buy a new one?" before even testing it so just out of interest I asked him to price it without mentioning the make! Came back as a Suzuki at £300 so I'm now busy trawling to see if I can find out what sort of Suzuki its from ! Left it with them anyway to see what they can do, probably nowt so they can sell me a new one !!

Don't thing fezza use fezza only parts

I remember a ferrari day at knockhill and an F40 owner had dispatched one of his minions to get a part from a vauxhall garage

And the lambo in evo he discovered it was seatbelt buckles from a fiat

My mate keeps telling me his Ignis Sport (think Postman Pat on speed) has the same rear brakes as an RX-8....he's well chuffed...!

Anyway, I was looking for someone to do a similar thing a few months back, but for a measly MR2 alternator. Couldn't find anybody up here who does it. I did find a guy down in Edinburgh who will do it though, for all the postage would be...

The Fezza is a Frankensteins monster from what I can tell !! I've found fuse holders made by Ford, the alternator is a NipponDenso (Jap!) and there have been other parts made by Fiat I've spotted ! Saying that I'm sure most modern cars are the same, why spend time and money designing a simple part when you can just use one from another manufacturer!
