Did anyone see the Scotish Rally championship highlights on telly recently?
One of the Impreza's had a small front number plate that folded back to horizontal when moving (due to air) so it could not be seen.

What's the legality of this? Sounds like a good idea!

Cheers

Very not legal biggrin

I think these originated in Japan, to avoid cameras/police when ripping round Jap roads biggrin

But you can have the "JDM tilt bracket" that positions the plate at roughly 45degrees. Not my cup of tea but lots of people like.

You can pick them up for around £15-£20. Or make one yourself biggrin

Edit to add pic of tilt braket:

I saw that as well. The car was fitted with a front mounted intercooler so there were very good performance reasons for having a number plate like that. Many fit one at the side like the EVOs or a smaller one on the upper or lower bumper.

Can't imagine the tilting one would be road legal and you might need to fix it in place for road use.

It was this one:

close up of plate:

He won the championship I think, so it might have made some difference!

I never noticed this on the day, it was only on the tv report that I noticed and went back for a look at my photos!

Anyone know where I can get the dates for next years events?
