Just browsed the website and it mentioned that the pit gates will be closing for the last time at the end of 2008, anybody know any more about this?
Is it true?, will another promoter take over?, why is GMP closing the gates?

Thats a shame, I used to go there every weekend when I was younger. Might make a wee trip up next year just to see the place on a Saturday night before it closes.

Do they still do stock-cars at Armadale?

i'm not sure about Armadale, i'm sure GMP were promoting there for a while a few years back, could be wrong though.

Yeah its true - End of next season will be the last at the racewall.

There is an application for planning permisson by Willie and kenzie law for a stock car track on the ground where the current autocross racing is held ( field next to the A92 at lochgelly ).

Tarmac track, with a gravel / grass run off area and a tyre wall.......I know, hardly racewall is it.........

Not been announced yet if its going to be a brisca licence, NHRPA etc, who knows!!!!

I Have my own thoughts on how it will be run, where the funds are coming from etc, Not going to post them here but I won't be putting any trophies up if that goes ahead..................

Next year at the racewall has a few good meetings planned though, best of all the saloon world final, that will be one to catch for sure!

The only way to regenerate Cowdenbeath is with napalm.

Ah right. My old man used to take me to Newtongrange when I was a nipper too.

A few fond memories of the Racewall, Chalky White's F2 going up in flames on the pit bend, Cantona Kelly trying to smack Keith Standford after Kelly won rain-soaked F2 Final & Keith punted Kelly's almost brand-new machine up the wall. Rob Speak's many victories, Jock Harry & Ernie Burgoyne etc.

It's a real shame it's going to close in a year.

I've got some great memories of the place too, Alistair King winning the world F2 final, John'get the max'Maxwells antics, my mate Willie rolling his banger during the scottish championship, the sad passing of Gordon Barclay.
Great memories, will miss the place.

I remember the weekend Kingy won the F2 World Finals - what a great weekend that was.

I used to go to school with Alister and followed him all the way thru the Minis up to the F2s.

Great driving talent.
