Also notice the white Octavia is back as well.

Mate got done by it on the M74 last time it was around. He couldn't believe he got tugged by a Skodalaugh

Charcoal grey 07 plate 520d on the M8 today. I'd never have guessed a 520d, unless it's had some 'badge engineering'!

No, not for a long time now. Last ones to retire them were the Lancashire guys who had them on raised suspension for following joyriders off road into fields/over kerbs etc.

In Scotland, it's been about 10 years (at least) since they have been in Police hands. I have it on good authority (from someone who was involved in maintaining them) that by the end the running costs would have bankrupted a small banana republic.

The grey 5 series appears to be a busy/successful car.

almost every day on the M8 now I see it pulled over with the disco lights flashing.
At the start of the month an Aston DB9 (I think) had been pulled near the showcase.

There's also an unmarked black (or very dark blue) BMW 3-series saloon on an 07 or 57 plate (didn't get a lot of time before I had passed them). Saw it today between (old) Glasgow Zoo and Uddingston, with a popup Police sign in the back window

Saw a black 5 series on the M80 earlier this week. I'm sure that 50 limit is for road safety......

yes the unmarked 5 series (there may be a dark blue one also) has been working the M80 between Glasgow and Stepps hard, have seen at least 5 people pulled over by it on the hard shoulder in the last few weeks. Its crazy, can't see why that stretch should be a 50, its a motorway, nowhere near housing/pedestrians and is a fairly straight and safe stretch of road.

Speed limits are about oppression, nothing else.

Couldn't agree more about eastbound M8 especially after M80 junction. I got done there last October. 4 points. £200 fine. Pish.

What speed? Thats a bit harsh, 4 points and £200! There's never any real traffic on that road past 7 o'clock at night anyways.
