I'd just like to say hello to you guys from yesterday afternoon, driving like lunatics along the South Deeside road. I'm sure at least some of you must be members here.

And a special thanks to the red car that suddenly had to dive in front of me, causing me to have to brake very sharply, which in turn woke my young daughter up (who had just gone to sleep in the back)who then proceeded to start screaming.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I hope I never have the displeasure of seeing you on the road again.

Having passed same lot in opposite direction as I approached Aboyne yesterday afternoon, have to agree with above sentiments. Some less than thoughtful overtaking going on.

having listened to the group in burger king talk about the way they were driving and going sideways nearly hitting cars im not surprised by this at all.

think this was before going near the south deeside road as when they left i followed for a bit and they went out the deeside road then.

Hi,

I will keep me ears to the ground. This sort of nonsense should be kept for Knockhill..
Hopefully they will have enough guts to own up !

Their has been a red Classic diving all over Aberdeen for the last year doing ridiculous speeds
in urban areas. Perhaps the same car ?

Hello.

Just joined, Ive a few things to say here, then I delete my membership to this forum, as to be honest, its never really interested me... so dont think that I'm ignoring you after this...

Firstly, It was me driving the red impreza.

I know precisely which car that was and where/when it was... in fact thats been in the back of my mind since it happened... although, there is always another side to every story, if he was not driving so close to the other car he would not have had to brake... Please bear in mind that I was car 6 of 6... by that point, us being there was no surprise.

that however does not excuse what happened, it actually happened in conjunction with something else, which inadvertently caused me to make that manouvre, had I planned it better then it would never have happened. for that, you have my MOST sincere appologies.

Now I cannot speak for anyone else that was there, but know this, I am unlikley to be going on a run like that again with that particular group, I cant say that it was enjoyable from my point of view... especailly because of the speeds around such a high volume of traffic. there is much more to my opinion, but that is not for me to share with you.

Right... word of advice, make sure you know what you are talking about before you speak, just because being sideways was mentioned, and it was, I should also point out that there was NO MENTION of any other cars being on the road... you dont know the whole story. please keep you comments to yourself, if theres one thing that I hate, its keyboard warriors...

Oh, and also, please think on about jumping on the bandwagon when you yourself have made comments like this next one...

this car has only been out the garage once since i got it. currently in the middle of replacing the engine as the head gasket has gone and we had a spare.

a few people have seen this car now and all have said its one of the best conditions they have seen.[/i]

hopefully get it on the road soon and get some more sideways experience

So, by all means, please, feel free to get back in your box!

Cal, here I am, I do have the balls to own up and say that I'm wrong. I know its late in the day, but ive actually been out all day and I'm just back from the town, so ive not been in a position to reply before now. and Ive just noticed the time, for the record it IS 4:45 in the morning.

and Finally, Cal again, that is NOT the red scooby you mentioned, I may/may not have seen the one in question... not sure, but you know my car personally, so I can safely say that I know that its not my one. besides, I also know there is another one thats just like my one, and he's not exactly slow about town... I do worry that I should get the blame for this... I for the record DO NOT make a habit of speeding in town.

Thanks for your time.

Edited to fix formatting, I'm not used to forum software this old and rubbish...

when the SIDC (JohnS division) are so well organised and sensible, it's a shame that certain factions let the side down and give Subarus a bad name.

Not commenting on any specific incident but I'm sure we've all seen episodes involving Imprezas we wish we hadn't

that's a relief. Love how that 'other site' is happy to allow name calling etc. Says it all really....

No more than any other make of car TBH , funny thing is if it`s an Impreza it tends to get singled out a bit more doesnt it, yes there are some F**Kwit`s drive these car`s as they are more affordable to the average Joe nowaday`s, But there are F**Kwit`s driving every other make of car as well,But yet I dont see any of the others getting singled out like the Impreza does

Probably because, in MY view, they tend to be louder than the average car and they are far faster than the average car - the combination of these two factors makes an Impreza being driven at, say, 80 per cent, more of a target than, say, a Focus being driven at 80 per cent.

(I'm not going to start on the use of apostrophes, commas, capital letters and general grammar....)

So because they tend to be louder and faster that makes us all bad drivers does it? frown

This made me larf..

TVR drivers speeding up to close the gap you were safely aiming for then getting the humph and posting on thier forum that we were driving like nutters and we made one of them spill tea on thier slippers after our noisy exhausts made thier hearing aids go all funny...

...when reallty deep inside they are wishing they had owned an Impreza and could join in the fun.

What a balloon!! Yes, i would much rather be sat in an ugly, common-as-muck, plastic box complete with eastern-bloc-grade interior and an image on par with a max-power corsa... mmmmm, nice...

biggrin

ok, they are quick though.

I know what I would rather be driving and its not a Trevor.
I would forever be worrying what was going to break next.
At least Imprezas are generally reliable as well as quick, handle well, practical, etc

Yes I do own an Impreza

If the inbred hill-billys in Deliverance were into cars they would drive Subaru Imprezas. It's a shame since they are good cars, but with a dire image that attracts the chav populous.

I was once tailgated by an Impreza WRX about 3 feet away who then floored it past me hitting about 110mph as we entered a 50 zone... A few days later I spotted the same impreza at the lights. Inside was a stereotypical skinny chav c*nt with a baseball cap perched at 45 degrees...

Olivera - people in glass houses shouldn't run around naked. Lets face it - a Leon is a poor man's VW Golf with an interior from a nation that disappears for a sleep in the afternoon. Potato, tomato, lets call the whole thing off.

Looking at your spec you've certainly built yourself a decent car, but lets face it - if you want to call the Impreza chav then yours are no better. Dump valve, custom exhuast, go faster stripes - we've all got them!

You know what - I was once tailgated by a Seat Ibiza driver who turned out to be a baseball cap wearing ned. I spotted a ned driving a BMW, a Merc, Vauxhalls, Fords, a Jag no less and all sorts of cars.
