How did you find trying to get exposures of the cars on track,

at one point I was using 1/160th at F4, and exposure compensation up to +5 (the maximum on the D70), and was still getting dull / dark exposures!

Thumping the ISO upto 800 helped a bit, but the pictures just got really noisy!

Alan,

Do you have any of my 968 CS with side scripts chasing down that F40? :O)

I was panning at about 1/100th and 1/80th at iso 200, tarting off on iso 100 but got a bit dull for that, at those settings the camera was setting the aperture between 4 and 8 and the exposures seemed fine, dont know why it would have been so different between the two cameras, (i was using a 400d).

ive got a couple of the 968 CS that i'll post up once ive processed them a bit.

This was shot at ISO 200, 1/200, F5.6, exposure compensation at +5.0 (maximum).

Great photos Alan! They've a real sensation of speed about them.

I took quite a lot but they were very variable, partly due to poor panning... I'll just need to spend more time at track events to get some practice smile

this was at 1/80th f/8 iso 200, a bit underexposed but nothing major, im no good at working out what the equivalent f stop would be at 1/200th but it seems like it could be close to the same exposure, all the pics in the first post were brightened up a bit, this ones just resized.

kenny, i took hundreds of pics today but will probably end up only processing 50 at the most because of bad panning or just alot of them lookin identical, but with practice the amount of ones worth keeping has definetly got larger.

Alan, I wondered if that might be the case. I reckon I took about 200 track pictures and a fair number came out poorly. Some though, came out well and I'm very pleased with them. As you say, with practise, the ratio of good to dodgy will improve smile

All three stunning though...........

I Took a few pics but the camera is out in the van and CBA to go get it, maybe tomorrow!!! Did anyone else see the hummer and ferrari next to it in the paddock? Life as a daddys boy........

Thanks Alan. It does go low under braking.

Just these two, I take it its your car, i was behind you for a bit on my way back and the car looks very good in amongst all the normal traffic. None of it off at the hairpin although i did have one of it powersliding out of the hairpin but wasnt very sharp unfortunately.

ETA: i think i have a couple more that would be worth processing a bit so i'll post then when ive done it.

I have one of it sideways and one off at the hairpin. I'll try and get them up soon. It was very interesting to see it go off...

1st tine in 5 years ... just overdone it by 3ft ... as they say "if your not off your not trying" after that stuck to PROPER lines rather than sliding it round the hairpin to impress my passenger!!!!The rest of day was the usual ...perfect.. the RS makes you look good G

I had a chat with a very nice guy who took some pictures of my 147 GTA in the VIP car park at about 12pm.

Was it anyone here? If so I would very much like to see the pics.
