If I'm home I think I will make the effort to spectate. I do enjoy a good sprint. I just have to avoid the burger van!

I'm sure the missus would love the chance to go again.

ok, tell me more, can it be done in a road legal car. I have a rear roll cage fitted but no cut-outs or fire system. Race car has been sold and we have a car ready for conversion over winter so would like to try this out before pulling apart.

but the entry is full for this one, with a massive reserve list. So come along and marshal - you get the best view, find out what sprinting is about, meet some amazing people, and also get a free lunch. Will you get a better offer that day?

Me and the Striker will be there, it will be only my third event this season due to work getting in the way of my social life, son also driving in his first ever event, which is nice biggrin

and I'll be there.

We are looking for marshals for both days so if anyone can help please PM get in touch. Like Broomstick Lady said
we look after our marshals very well. We provide tea, coffee and a "fancy peece" throughout the day, lunch and we are having stovies on the Saturday night which is free for marshals, competitiors and officials. You can camp at the venue if you wish.

What's wrong with bringing that beautiful blue Nissan out to play? OK, maybe not this year - Alford's the last event - but next year?!

Would it not be far too heavy? It's 1500kg! Decent enough brakes and that I suppose. I was thinking more of an old XR2 or something fairly cheap if I was to get into it. My girlfriend is dying for a shot on the track too!

Depnds what you want to do. Go out and have some fun, go a bit faster than you've been before - anything goes. If you're cup hunting, then yes, you need something more competitive - horses for courses.

It's surprising how many people go as much for the craic as anything else - for a weekend at Doune, you'll be there all weekend, but on the hill only 6 minutes or so, and non switched on people think you're nuts!! So there has to be something else going for it - and that is the people involved - it's a really good crowd - someone called up a 'travelling circus' once, cos we all go round the same venues all year from April to October, and you get to know people well - it is racing, yes, but a social activity too.

If you go to Alford, look out Janet Dickson - she'll be in the secretary's hut most of the time - she can point you to someone who can talk to you. and as for ladies racing - there is a special camaraderie amongst the lady drivers - so your OH will have lots of support!!

Hi Janet, long time no speak. I can say that Janet and Nina look after us marshals very well. I will be coming along on Saturday, but not sure about Sunday as it is my 19th Birthday (god am old) so I may, I may not.

And also Janet I know I am supposed to be helping Tim on the ambulance is that still the idea? or is it best to speak to Tim himself.

See you there...
