Becoming a Driving Instructor has been something I have been thinking about for a while. A few years ago I inquired with the BSM and was given the package, but I went back offshore again and never pursued the idea. However those thoughts are now back as I can't stay in this industry forever and now need to think about what I am going to do in the future.
So I was wondering if there were any self employed guys/gals out there with any advice on how to go about it? I don't really want to go down the BSM/AA route as I would still need to work offshore untill I was trained. What are the pro's and con's of going it alone? Good idea or bad.

There is a chap in our sprint / hillclimb clique who I believe is an instructor.

The fella with the V8 Westfield. I think his surname is Lyons.

Some say he is G4Man's long lost brother (the porta-loo incident at Fintray was particularly amusing).

Perhaps someone else here can put you in touch.

Cheers,

Eric smile

Thanks for that. I will probably be back for more info. I have been speaking to Dave Lyons and he was very helpful. I think the big push will be the money side. Far to comfortable on offshore wages right now.

However can someone tell me what number is the ADI Order line?? I looked on the site and want to order the starter pack and book but for the life of me can't fine the number!! I must be having a blonde moment. Can someone help me. at the bottom of this link it gives you the price but no number. Looked elsewhere but to no avail!!

Thank's Mizzdaizee but I need another number.confused That was the right direction but he does different starter packs to get you through the whole part 1. Starting at £99. I need the cheaper info option first.

Well I am thinking about starting up while I still work offshore to try and start up a client base. I need to do my research and that will take time. Either way I can't stay working offshore for the rest of my life so have to get the thinking cap on. This place has had 7 years of my life already!! laugh
