Anyone used them?

Unfortunately my partner was in an accident at the weekend, some blind b**ch pulled out of a junction withouth even looking right. Lot of damage, but not enough to write it off unfortunately as the value is too high being a new(ish) car, although we'll wait until the accessor is finshed.

Anyway the insurance company are asking where to take the car for repair. I initially said Kinghorn, only place i'd trust, but we are talking months to have it repaired.

Heard good things about Autospray in Bridge if Don, but just looking for anyone with personal experience, good or bad. She's gutted, as it's her first new car and wants a proper job done, especially as there is mechanical damage to suspension etc.

Have had my VW Golf repaired at Autosray after it was rear ended and they turned out a first class job. My father knows a few of the employees there and reckons they are all top notch tradesmen.

I had my vtec there a while ago after a big front crunch, then i had it back 3 times to get things sorted out but i was never happy with it. This was a while ago though and they might be better now.

I've always used Autospray for all my cars and the work has always been top class stuff. If its an Insurance job then it'll be no problem. Its no scuff and pluff jobs there. They are pricey but you're not paying.

Paint was good, panel alignment not good, wheel camber and alignment way out, only some of the parts the insurance got billed for were fitted, only parts of the inner wings were replaced so there was a extra join and lots of seam sealer to hide it. lots more miles on the clock and a few different cd`s in the changer! Maybe being a mechanic to trade made me notice a lot of the things that were wrong but it was not the job it should have been.

With me working in the motor trade i wouldn't touch them with barge pole.

As jnr said he wasn't happy with repairs he's not the only one .

I used to be a painter at Autospray.
99% of the time the work is good but if your not happy just tell them.
Wheel alignment would have been carried out by Laws Tyres round the corner.
The Cd's and miles sounds like a problem with the valeter, they've had a few dodgy boys in that job. I personally wouldn't have left any personal belongings in the car with the guys they employ to clean the cars.

Well.... car is at Autospray and so far I am very impressed as was the insurance accessor who pleased with the rebuild plan.

Work only got approved on Thurs and when we went in today to pickup sunglasses etc it's already been fully stripped back and ready for the new pannels. The guys are very helpful.

Will let every one know how the job goes when we get it back in a couple of weeks.

Don't mean to hyjack the thread but After the mess of my Evo repair when Andy owned it, I wouldn't go near Specialist Cars bodyshop. There was 79 faults the assessor found when the car was returned to him. It had to be resprayed again twice and the sill that was replaced is now rotten! They were supposed to replace the sill again but all they did was buff the rust down and repaint it. No wonder the car's so heavy, there's probably 30Kg of paint on it! I used to deal with Autospray when I was an assessor many years ago and never had any issues with the repairs done there but I was only ever called back to inspect the repair if the customer had issues with it. Hope they sort yours out properly, there's nothing better than a bodged repair to reduce the value of a car forever

Not going to go into to details.... but I certainly won't be visiting these guys again!!. Their quality control is non existent, even my partner noticed two problems with the car on collection, I noticed six.

Yeah I know I know.... but they also had lots of good reports and the insurance accessor hadn't had any problems before, he was impressed with their efficiency and rebuild plan so we went with them. Plus no one suggested any where better. The only place I'd take my car in Aberdeen is Kinghorn but they had a massive waiting list.

I guess every garage will get good and bad reviews. It's hard to know how anal some folk are with there cars and what's classed as good and bad job. This one is classed as a bad job in anyones eyes.

Shame the guys on the floor are so incompetent! How the guy polishing the car before we picked it up didn't notice or at least say something I don't know.

It's going back in for the third time next week.
