I was approached by the Autosportif team shortly after the track event started to see if I could let him drive his car on track, as he was competing in the Time Attack series and hadn't driven the car before. I could hardly refuse

He went on to finish an excellent third, behind the Zen Performance Impreza (lapped in 53 seconds in the dry!) and the RCMS "Gobstopper"

Jimmy is a national hero...blisteringly fast & a touch cooler behind the wheel than his son. Loved his career in the early 80`s with his battles with Russell Brookes & his later work in the 6R4
