It's actually the reflection from the light. The track is a Spanish Ninco set - they also do a 'rally' layout that is brown with lumps!

Next project is a hillclimb track that goes round the room and climbs up the wall - any electronic wizards out there up to building me the electronic timing! (I told you I was spoiled...)
