Recommended Architects - Aberdeen area
Discussion
Wonder if anyone can recommend an architect they have used in the Aberdeen area, for at least one project, possibly two I am about to start. The definite one is a new build on a sloping site and the possible second project is a conversion and extension of an old industrial building, both are in conservation areas.
Looking for an architect who can come up with some exciting ideas for the sites and who can possibly think outside the box and make the most of what is there. Help with getting planning permission and then detailed design and probably help with the tendering process and ongoing builds.
So, anyone know someone who fits the bill?

Hi cerbfan,
I run my own business specialising in Kitchens and Bathroom design and installation, and we have had some dealings with a few companies in the Aberdeen / Banchory area. One of my best clients swears by Fitzgerald associates, and having seem some of their designs I can vouch for the versitility in project ideas. Have never used them myself though, as I always use a local (brechin based) architect for all my work.
Hope this helps

Highly recommend the architects I'm working with http://www.leeboyd.com (Edinburgh)
Fitzgerald i would recommend for Aberdeen, as an ex-arhcitect i can say almost any good architect can do something outside of the box, its getting the opportunity to do so. And it doesnt need to be expensive, some smart decisions can see you with a good compromise.
all also consider Gokay Deveci, very outside of the box with a lean towards sustainable design.
LeeBoyd i can say are also good, got a pal working for them in Edinburgh as well. possibly biased, but good portfolio and some interesting projects.
Do you have an idea of what your after, ie style and where outside the box? each of the suggested will be good for their style, but check in with a few before you commit and get a gauge for what they do.

Can vouch for Lee Boyd too - We use them at work on various projects.

Thanks for all the info, I've spoken to Fitzgeralds and will be meeting with them soon, things are on hold for a couple of weeks though while I go offshore and the closing date for the second project is while I'm away. When I get back I'll know where I stand and contact some of the other people put forward then.
