My equally sad husband was listening to Chris Evans on his way back from collecting the G4 and reuniting him with the almost complete family (G22 to complete the collection to arrive back in August!) and heard at least 2 mentions for Golspie bound sprinters - first from Adam Young and then Jonathan "The Speechmaker" Rarity ... What's the average age of our competitors, listening to Radio 2?!

what's really sad is when you start listening to radio 3 !!!!! Radio 2 is merely the "old" radio one we used to listen too ......

...... what do you say into making the texting chris on a friday night into our own little sport? I sussed out that they don't really check them out so you can send several from the same phone ...... good for a wee pre-event banter don't you think wink It's all part of the fun, especially on the long road north to places like golspie.

..... not to mention it's also GREAT publicity to get spectators ...... not as daft as I look you know ...... no comment necessary nina smile

see you all at doune

I fear I listen to the old Third Programme. This means I miss out on the delights of current popular music. However, the upside is that I don't have to hear the pompous Jeremy Vine, execrable Chris Evans and truly awful Steve Wright and their sycophantic hangers-on babbling inanely across the airwaves. I confess to listening to Wogan on the way to work, but he should be on Radio Four, or the Home Service as we of a certain vintage still tend to call it. Things have never been the same since the licence fee was removed....

I, too, listened to the Light Programme on the way up to Golspie (although I missed the Preghostie's multi-text scam as the valves in my wireless were warming up.)
'Managed to catch "The Archers" on the Home Service though - source of all my Agriculture Law wink

G-Man again - I prefer DAB and Planet Rock (otherwise known as 'Dave Radio'). Alice Cooper as the breakfast Show DJ, Fish on Friday and Rick Wakeman on Saturday mornings. Plus they play music even Radio 1 didn't play when it was around the first time.

not easy to get DAB in the car, though...

Is Englandshire agri-law so different to that which obtains north of Hadrian's Wall? Surely they both favour the haves to the detriment of the have-nots as does any sensible legal system? "Get orf moi land!!!!"
