I am assured that this is genuine - not photoshopped.

It was sent to me by a competitor who said; "he spent the night in hospital, his car will take longer to fix".

Cheers,

Eric smile

photoshop and not a very good one either.
The sun reflection on the back window is pure photoshop but theres no reflection on the boot lid? outline of the car is too defined, no heat haze coming from underneath the car.
Why would his pace notes be completely different every other competitor that has landed 30ft beforehand?

Having been told first hand from someone who was there, saw the incident, and that the driver smashed a vertibrae in his back upon landing, I can assure you it's not a photoshop.

Sorry, not having a go, but had to add, it seems pretty obvious from the shadow under the car that the sun is almost directly above the car, and the angle of the rear window is reflecting it underneath the spoiler towards the camera. There is a dark shadow directly under the spoiler lip, and, as it should be, no reflection of the sun of the bootlid.

Have to agree with beakr, seems like whenever a picture of something unusual appears nowadays, it's automatically assumed to be a photoshop. Amazing things to do happen, and sometimes people take photos of them.

It's NOT a photoshop!!!!
It's on the British Rally Forum with comments from the driver (Barry Johnston)
Also very poor footage on youtube. But you here him coming! Limiter in top clap
Says he had an interesting conversation with the doctor at A&E, along the lines of:- How fast where you going, 220kph, On what type of road, Single track, What happened, Went over a crest and jumped about 60 meters, You've got the wrong hospital mate you want the mental hospital about 5 miles up the road. laugh

Freezing the video shows quite clearly that the car was actually at the height shown in the still. All I can say is the driver was a very lucky man not to have gone off on landing if his back was damaged as reported. Photoshop is a marvellous tool - I have a couple of pics of myself in which I bear a striking resemblence to George Clooney - but in this case the camera has not lied. I'd be having a quiet word with my navigator about the pace notes though....

Apparently the driver also continued to the end of the stage with his back injury, then had to be helped out of the car.

Spectacular jump and photo, and hopefully the driver will make a full recovery!
