Can anyone recommend somewhere that would be able to fit my new Hillclimb slicks to their rims. I know there are lots of tyre fitters in Aberdeen, but I would like to go somewhere that isn't going to cost the earth and will not be too heavy handed.

Try Richards Garage (ask for Andrew) He fitted 13" Nankangs on my 19" Alloys for my Micra, saved me a fortune!!

i think you should have a crack at it your self,i remember when i was young we never had tools so i had to get my wife to hold the wheel and tyre and apply sum ky-jelly and prise it on with her 10" vibrator (switched on)that will do the trick.

p.s if at first you dont succed pull your foreskin over your heed!!!

Hi Dougie & Wierdo, no matter where you go you always get caught by a pair of Weekers!

Hopefully get my tyres fitted tomorrow, my trouble is there are no friendly Thrumster garage mechanics to help me down here like there was up North, or ones that work for Richards either, so it looks like I have to pay the going rate to someone for a change.

Go to Kenway Tyres in the Bridge of Don and ask for Paul. He's a good lad and the only person i trusted with a set of BBS LM's and set of freshly rebuilt Porsche split rims. If they are busy then Laws are good too.

Oh, and AVOID Colins Tyres like the plague... Numpties the lot of them...

I used Turriff Tyres once!!!
Never ever again, Was just down right careless with my wheels. Chipped all the laquer around the bolt holes, Put in a complaint and got nothing but abuse from them. Apparantly I was the one trying to rip them off?

I was ripped off by Colins Tyres - £50 to fit four tyres!!!

They then failed to balance them properly and tried to tell me it was the tyres that were at fault rolleyesshoot

Got back home and noticed that there was significantly less paint on my alloys than there was before the new tyres frown

Will not be going there again and would suggest that others don't either.

Wouldn't use Laws tyres again. They fitted 2 front tyres to my car, one guy did an ok job to one wheel, but the balance weights came off within a week. The guy that did the other wheel didn't bother putting a new valve on it, hammered a chap-on weight onto the wheel and scratch all the paint. Asked for it to be rebalanced using stick on weights to match the other wheel, after 5 minutes of huffing and puffing, they eventually got it sorted. Didn't notice the valve until i got home. Ended up getting both wheels rebalanced when it went in for its service the next week, was told the one with the weights still on it was quite a bit out.

I might just be a one off, but i won't be going back again

Westhill Station - put 335/30/18s on my Ultima 13" rims & balanced, no probs.
Also can get most tyres at decent prices within a day or two.
Used them a lot, always been excellent.

If they are the same place in Westhill I went to today, great people. The Esso station that also does servicig, tyres et al. Very helpful and friendly - will pick up the Broomstick's new wets tomorrow.

The same - Westhill Service Station I meant to say. They are good, must see if they can get Yoko 048 LTS tyres, I will need these on a regular basis as will Mr Kiltie.
