What about Glasgow is typically Glaswegian?
Discussion
Bear with me
I've got to nip across to take some photos for an article we're publishing and, although I'll be getting a few shots of the Royal Victoria Infirmary (which is where it's based), I'm trying to think of anywhere or anything that would imply "Glasgow" in a photograph. George's Square sprung to mind, but to someone who's never seen it, it could be any square in the world.
Anyone got any suggestions? I've got to go across this afternoon

Its got to have the crane, Its a link to Glasgows ship building past which, along with the tobacco warehouses are what made Glasgow what it is. The finnieston crane was used for lifting trains onto ships for export.
Did you go anywhere near the west end? the university building is another one of glasgows iconic buildings along with the kelvin art galleries, although to encapsulate Glasgow you do really need the Clyde.

Yep, had "with" from other people too, so "with" it is.
I did go to Yorkhill on a tip from one of the people I was taking photos of at work for those two buildings but there was nowhere to park for 50 square miles. Presumably because of the hospitals.
I'm tempted to go back one weekend for the hell of it (ie not work) cos they were very impressive.

I cant remember when they do it exactly but its possible to get a tour up the Uni tower which provides an awesome vantage point over Glasgow, as does the "Lighthouse" which is just off Buchanan St http://www.thelighthouse.co.uk/page.php?page=infor...I did go to Yorkhill on a tip from one of the people I was taking photos of at work for those two buildings but there was nowhere to park for 50 square miles. Glasgow is very underrated for its beauty, Its not all buckfast and neds, I was always told its a city which encourages you to look up as a lot of the buildings, whilst uniform at street level are rather spectacular above it. Its just a shame so much of it get burnt to the ground and has "luxury flats" built on it

Sighthill flats, with the cemetery in the background (i lived there - the flats, not the cemetery - when i was very very wee)
best be quick with this shot though, then get back in the car and away
Someone else suggested Sighthill.best be quick with this shot though, then get back in the car and away
They also recommended Easterhouse and Maryhill so obviously it was taken with a pinch of salt
