My girlfriend and I are planning on going up to Knockhill soon for my Single Seater experience that she bought me for xmas. We're thinking of going up the night before (a Sunday) so we don't have to be in such a rush the next morning to get there by 9.30, which would be the case if we were travelling from Glasgow.

Any suggestions on where is nice to stay? Doesn't have to be right next to KH, but within 20miles or so. Looking for something with a bit of class but not the 5star treatment and the huge bill which goes with it.

Had a look on the KH website and a few of the hotels they recommend, but wondering if theres anyone on here who can suggest a good one.

Cheers

Being a local of sunny Dunfermline I can heartily recommend the following from Knockhills list:

www.keavilhouse.co.uk/

www.pitbauchlie.com/ - use this one for the odd pub lunch and the bar is ok, 5 min from work.

www.pitfirranehotel.com/

Some of the others are a little far out - Kirkcaldy (45min/1hr drive during rush hour on the A92) or Perth. Would defo avoid the King Malcolm?

If your looking for basic hotelness with not to many thrills the Express Holiday Inn in Dunfermline is less than 18mth old and has reasonable rates, we use it for visitors and guests for work etc.

This place is/was good www.balbirnie.co.uk/. I've stayed there for Knockhill, but it was about 3 years ago.

Nice food too.

Its where the Central Scotland TVR crowd meet and I can confirm that the food is magic!

I always stay here.

Not cheap but nice. Choice of quality bar food or the restaurant.

Rooms are fine and there's a pool.

Ten minute drive to KH.

Cheers,

Nice hotels I'm sure but 9.00am on a Sunday morning..... surely one of the
best places to stay with easy/ quick access to Knockhill would be your
house in Glasgow!.

I would agree with this entirely - however the likely hood of my girlfreind rising at 7.30am to leave from Glasgow is very unlikely. She works late shifts throughout the week.

Thought I may as well bump an old thread - looking for accommodation recommendations before a Trackday at the end of May.

Needs to be reasonably priced with secure parking for car and trailer

Thanks!

You're probably best off at the Travelodge, Premier Inn, or Holiday Inn Express all located near junction 3 M90.

There won't be secure storage, but you can more than likely leave the car & trailer at the circuit the day before if that's good enough. Depends on what's on around the date, but it's not uncommon for folk to do that. Give the office a call just to check.
