r1 flies at last!
Discussion
Just to let Kiltie know the R1 turbo is in the final stages of shake down at last. Lots of flames and bangs - Yippee!!!! Testing this Sunday for fine tuning at secret location in Angus.... Too late for this Fintray, and only on reserve list for June Golspie because I slept in by two minutes on the day for entries. But hopefully we'll get her out for the August Fintray, July Alford, September Golspie and Lossiemouth. How's the Busa going?
Good news John, glad to hear that it is running, it has taken too long and too much grief but at seems you are just about there.
Have done nothing to mine over the winter, but I don't think I will be doing many events due to work schedules anyway, I hope to be around at some of the events you have the car out at though.

Thanks to all for the good wishes. I don't think I'll have the set-up sorted well enough for the May Fintray, but I'll definitely be spectating. I'd have thought it will be oversubscribed, but I'll find out. Good luck to all - drive them like they're stolen, but remember to stay on the black bits....
Just found out there are still places left at Fintray. Have to say I'm surprised, given the popularity of Golspie. I've fired off an entry, so all I have to do now is work to get the beast fettled in time. A wing and a prayer I expect, so you'll not have too much to worry about Kiltie! Is that fiend Drew Murray still performing heroics in the Fury?
Good news - I will probably put in a Fintray entry for the Broomstick. Normal driver is still hobbling about with her walking stick, thanks to a complete tube with a trolley bag in Mumbai airport in January and, as the G4 is still elsewhere, I might be allowed to borrow her car... unless anyone out their needs me to double enter and warm up their tyres for them of course! I am sure I would fit in Roddy the Radical...

Thanks G4. You're welcome to have a seat in the R1t at Fintray if you're brave enough to be a test pilot! I imagine your current personal power to weight ratio and dimensions are about the same as mine. If you can double enter on the day I'll leave it up to you.
Thanks for the offer - Mission Control has said that The Broomstick needs to be ready, but if things get out of hand, I will let you know!

Nah, you're now too slim for Roddy

PS You could always borrow the Lotus and enter the "Marques" class
I can bring a big cushion! I doubt my pals in the GOC would ever talk to me again if I got in the Lotus, though...
Wash your mouth out Sir!! Lotus? Lotus? It's a Locaterfield!!!
