Thanks to the X3 driving wanker who left a big obvious ding in my passenger door today (carpark of Holiday Inn in Westhill).

I don't suppose you're reading this but ...

If I'd done the same, I'd have left a note with my name and number.

Obviously, you didn't have the decency - you prick.

Spleen vented.

Can't be bothered really Andy.

I'm about to punt the car.

It'll give a prospective buyer a cracking lever to knock a bit off.

Cheers,

I used to have some really classy winscreen stickers that I bought from a joke shop on Rose Street in Edinburgh.

The text went something like "The next time you park next to me, leave an effing can opener!"

Perhaps you needed one of those...

Let his tyre down (just the one mind) and leave a note along the lines of:

"Caution your offside front tyre is flat. While you're changing it consider if it would have been easier to take more care opening your doors and not ding the car next to you."

Probably on run-flats though...

David / Ali,

To be clear, he was in the carpark when I drove in and parked and he was gone when I returned to my (dinged) car.

My missus managed to get out without her door touching his so ... confused

Of course, that doesn't mean he did it, someone else could have parked there in the mean time. I once had an angry note demanding money for dinging someones door "and no police attention will be necessary" (and no, I hadn't done it).

Nightmare, as the car was looking good on Sunday evening.

I always park in the remote areas of car parks if I can. If there's no option and I'm "uncomfortably" close to another car, then I'll take a quick photo on my phone of the car including registration and it's proximity to my car. Delete it afterwards if there's no damage.

I would have a look at some of the dent wizard repairs, which can remove dents which haven't broken the paint.

Carpark corners for me too - or failing that, next to something more shiny and expensive (911 C4 this morning for example)

Just another reason to avoid Westhill
