Got back last night from what has become an annual pilgrimmage to the Highlands with several other S2000 owners. Known as The Woolly Bollard Tour, we enjoy the best scenery and roads these islands possess, with nary another car in sight.

I also tend to take an obscene amount of pictures - brace yourselves (I'm just copying and pasting from my posts on S2ki, so the more "familiar" comments won't make sense here, but I can't be arsed editing it all )

Day 1
Elgin to Tongue

Flickr Set

Highlights :

C7BLE does Bono.

So to speak.

A bit of a shock turning off a fast A-road onto this

Tally ho

Aawwww (where's the mint sauce?)

Some ruin or other

Hotel in Tongue

...beneath Ben Loyal

Sunset

Muir burn that got away. It was somewhat apocalyptic

Day 2
Tongue to...Tongue actually, this year we stayed in the same place 2 nights and did a loop.

Day 2

Flickr Set

Highlights :

Nearly fell off the road honking onto the brakes to take this one before everyone disappeared around the corner

Mmm...road...

EPS Failure? Surely not

Wheeeee

At this point, C7BLE did something he was going to regret...he gave his keys to Colin (who'd left his car at the hotel that day)

Lunch at Kylesku

Twisty

Noo...give me the keys back...

Hell of a view

Oh dear...

It's not a proper WBT if this doesn't happen at least once

Heading back toward Tongue

Get orrff moi laaaand

Day 3
Tongue to Kintail (Loch Duich)

Day 3

Flickr Set

Highlights :

45.16 litres + 5 litre can 15 minutes previously = Graham had to get a lift

Coffee stop in Ullapool

Zoom zoom zoom

Lunch in Gairloch - they laid on a special chair just for Colin

Such a charming young lady the rest of the time

Dribble...

Charlotte "Ooo, let me take a photo of the baby!"

C7BLE "Have you seen the horns on the one 2 feet from my car??? Move!"

Afternoon stop in Applecross

Bumped into a small Smart convoy

Bealach beckons

Only got one photo this time - I got a bit of vertigo so didn't let go of the steering wheel.

...or the brakes

Hotel for the last night - Kintail Lodge.

Sunset on Loch Duich

Andy asked me to make him look beautiful. I left that lens at home.

Day 4
Kintail to Stirling (via Tomtoun & Glencoe/Rannoch Moor)

Day 4

Flickr Set

Highlights :

Waiting for Andy to collect the phone he'd left at the hotel rolleyes

It was a bit overcast to start with - so we chased the sun

Loads of deer around this area

Watch out for the nasty orcses, precious

No, I'M king

Sheep, coos, frogs and now deer.

The always stunning Glencoe as we wound our weary way south.

Top long weekend

Wow clap

Fantastic pics of an area I know well. Still maintain that the West of Scotland is one of the most beautiful places on this earth, and has the best roads too.

Bring on the Scotlandhoon at the end of this month
