I got my 1996 RT-10 dyno'd today in Aberdeen. Excellent figures:

458 rwhp
499 ft lbs torque (over 400 from 2500rpm!)

Suffice to say I'm very happy.

Where did you get it dyno'd and how much did it cost you (if you dont mind me asking)?

Im thinking of having the 'dustbin dyno'd as there no-one seems to be in agreement as to what output these cars actually generate.

I got it done at Wallace Performance in Aberdeen. They've got a very good 4WD rolling road set-up there. Some really powerful fans to keep engine temps down. It cost me £35 (I tagged along as part of MX-5 dyno day). I think it's usually £50 if you book on your own.

Hey ViperScott,

I was there on Sat in my BMW Z4. Your Viper is truely awesome, what a noise on the rollig road, your neighbours must love you.

I've spoken to the supercharger company following my disappointing 305bhp. It seems my car was running in failsafe mode on the rolling road, or indeed perhaps it always has been since fitting back in Jan. Maybe another 60-70bhp yet to come after the software update and change of pulley

have heard a few bad things about wallace performance, cant say how true they are though but believe what you want.

heard about customers cars gettin taken to mc'ds for dinner, car jumping off the rollers eek
not sure about this one but i have been told they dyno'd someones car, and adjusted a few things got a slight improvement. the boy went away and wasnt happy with his car so when out to a place called jim king in inverurie. he then checked things out and said the set-up was complete crap easy changes to get more power for little work. engine wouldnt last much longer! he then set it up correctly and got alot more out of it than wallace performance did!

cant verify these stories but from the stuff i have heard my opinion would be stay away! i would recomend jim king in inverurie or jap performance out in ellon! heard very good things about these companies.

Does Jim King have a rolling road? This might sound a bit hard to accept but the guy who did the work on my car thought it should have been putting out higher numbers than it did given the mods that were done. Especially the torque figure apparently - he would have expected 530-550 ft lbs! But the guy at Wallace did say their rollers tend to give quite conservative numbers...

Jim has no RR - he uses Wallace's.

Jap Performance have one as does Ricky Gauld but Ricky's is limited as to how much power it can handle.

I'm not a fan of Wallace's and would never put a car of mine near the place.

Public forum's not the place to tell the stories, if you want to know, email me via my profile.

Hi,

Whats the Viper like? Its one car of two that I'm considering for my next purchase. I currently have a few cars but would move on from the Plymouth Prowler for either a Cobra or Viper.

Would love to see it sometime if ever you were in Glasgow as you may tempt me.

Regards,

Matthew
