Where do dying Alfas go to die in Scotland? I've phoned round Embra and Borders scrappies with no luck. I'm looking for a 2.5 V6 motor, dead or alive.

Persley in aberdeen has an alfa, not sure of the enigine size but its quite new. Its the 5 door one with the lack of rear handles on the doors - they are up next to the window frames. You will have to take the engine out your self but you should get the engine and box for £50. Easy if there are two of you on a saturday afternoon.

Have you tried this guy - might be able to point you in the right direction, he's an Alfa expert...

Friday 13th? Braver men than me!

Might be worth trying Stewart McLennan at Loanhead - 0131 440 0597, although I don't know whether he'd have anything lying about.

I was in Persley today and there is an Alfa with a V6 in it but the timing belt is shredded.

I'm not up on my Alfa's but I think its a 164??(big 4 door saloon)transverse V6

Sort of thing I'm after, but the 164 has a 3L; I've got one of them, but need a 2.5l - from a 156 or 166 I think.

It's a privately organised test evening. There may be up to 4 replicas there, plus some other rally machinery.

It's a Hawk replica owned by someone from Ayr direction. He also has a CAE Corse replica in Marlboro colours.
