Thats it I'm fed up of people coming into my my drive overnight and vandalising our cars. A few months ago someone 'walked' over the Freelander denting the bonnet and roof, in the past 3 years, 4 of our cars have been 'keyed' and last night someone kicked the doormirror of the old Almera, which is the kids runabout. furious

So can anyone recomend someone who can supply and fit electric gates?

Do you have security cameras? They are also a cheap option to catch them. Just getting my gates fitted just now and I am going to buy the kit for opening them by remote, you can get them of ebay and fit them yourself. Problem is they probably won't stop the little sods climbing over them.......

Unless of course ya hook them up to 240v power supply. That should sort them out, although chances are you could end up in court.

I have just sort of killed two birds with one stone regarding security lol. I just bought a dogcam and MP4 recorder player thingy to use for car day out's and of course security on my house.

I would recommend a dog instead - the gate is simply a further interesting barrier to overcome, a dog has teeth and growls. Far more effective. Ours is 70 odd Kg. When he does bother to bark or growl, it is quite effective.

Richard that was not a dog!! You own a horse lol. But yes you have an effective security tool at your house.

or even just get normal high gates and close them once your in for the night, far cheaper and should be enough to make them think twice, ie> if they cant make a quick getaway, they prob won't bother

The Garage Door Company in Edinburgh - ask for Adrian Hamilton and tell him Nina sent you. 0131 337 3332. Or go to Knockhill next weekend and catch him in his 'new' FF ...

Thanks Peeps,
I already have 2 dogs but they dont take kindly to being left out all night!
Stang, I've thought of the security camera's in fact I mentioned them to the missus but she feels that it would draw attention to the house.
BSlady I know Adrian of old so I will give him a call, unfortunately I cant make Knockers next weekend since me and the missus are off with our buckets and spades to the sunny Caribean on Wednesday....its a hard life!
