Hi all,

I want to spend some of my redundancy on hiring an exotic for a day - something like an AMV8/997/Gallardo/TVR but I'm finding it difficult to find anywhere that will let me have one! I'm 23. Can anyone offer a suggestion? RIO's minimum age is 25 unfortunately.

Cheers

Doubt you will get anywhere TBH and even at that it would be expensive as they would factor in delivery costs from down south. Theres only one or two places that will rent me a van under 25, nevermind an expensive car!

Andy, Hey you're only 23. And you're redundant? Sorry mate. But, you don't want to be frittering away your poke on a one off experience yet. For what it would cost you to hire one of your dream cars, go and buy something with a wee bit of character.

The worlds ye'r oyster at that kind of level. Never mind about impressing your mates with a one off exotic hire. Get yourself into something cheap, cheerful and fun.

Exotica's a bit like fabulous sex. Great at the time but the memory never matches the reality. wavey

Yeah man, job went to India! I kid you not. I'm not interested in impressing anyone, I just wanted to drive something exotic! As for cheap, cheerful and fun, I have a Mini for that!

Or as an alternative try a instructed driving day at a track - loads of fun, best car mod in the world, you'll be in something fast (possibly exotic), could end up being a new hobby (if it isn't already - if it is, apologies and I'm off with tail between legs)

Doubt you'll find something like a Lambo to be honest....

Just an idea.

Andy - I think you will struggle to find a car to hire. Our insurance specifically excludes the unemployed! And 23 year olds.

If someone is willing to hire you a car, then make sure their insurance is kosher.

You are more than welcome to pop in to Rio for a sniff around. We have something new and very exciting arriving in April!

hehe I'm not on the dole yet! We were just told of our package, and with a bit of luck I'll be able to move in to a new role when this one finishes.

I had a feeling my age would go against me though. Thanks for the invite - I'll pop along and take a look. Only 18 months to wait until I can hire one of your cars!
