NOT what I wanted to come home to.....
Discussion
Well I arrived home today after a gruelling 2 week stint offshore..... Went to pick up the motor from a secure car park that I pay for only to hear four words that made me kinda sick to my stomach as I collected the keys.........
There's been an accident.......... Apparently one of there drivers did not see the massive american muscle as he proceded to take a transit van down the side of it.......
I have had my baby over a year now and took great care to keep it unmarked. I know it was an unfortunate accident but I can't help feeling sick.

Yeah I am calling them today as they said they will get it sorted out. Can't understand how it took them so long to notice they were hitting it, but my dad in under the theory that they drove my car against something rather than something against it. Just going to be a hassle as I can only get the mirrors from the states. It's amazing how much you rely on a mirror untill you lose it lol.
As long as he is fixed for April I will be happy.......... and I think I will be buying a banger to use to aberdeen from now on lol.

Thanks guys. All I know is the guy works for Nissan. I have been down to my local Audi/VW bodyshop (i used to work for them) and they don't think it's a good idea going somewhere just because they will get it done on the "cheap" for me, and I agree. Got a few quotes coming in. I should not feel bad because it's coming out of someone elses pocket. As it's going to cost me in calls to the states to get my mirror.
Not so good about your motor bolt. Give me a call dude as I am home for 2 weeks.......... and not going anywhere lol. It's quiet amazing you can change you hairstyle and no one will notice..... as soon as something happens to your car all you get is "what did you do".

Going OT I know but, back in the early 80's I was doing a hook-up in Denmark so grew a beard over the winter, I kept it for a while and then shaved it of keeping the moustache, not one person said "You've shaved you beard off" they all said "You've grown a moustache". That went after a while as well, struggling to grow hair on my head now!!

That is piss poor - some secure car park that is!!!
If they are going to get it done in the Aberdeen area, suggest Cadgers Garage in Belhelvie - just up the road from us. They have done work on our Sagaris, Cerbera and Chimaera, a complete respray on a friend's Griff, and I have seen various other high value cars there - not just fibreglass, Jags, Range Rovers etc - and all the work has been to an excellent standard.
The prices are very competitive, but the most important part is the standard of work, and attention to detail.
Drop me a line or call.

Not sure what to do about this now. Guy has told me he is not insured for this but will pay out of his own pocket. But would rather I used his paint sprayer in aberdeen. Not sure what I should do as I want a good job done. The last thing I want is to have it painted wrong.
Not getting that: if it was a van that scraped along the side it is the driver/vehicle insurance that covers it. A bit odd - puts the theory that they drove it into something higher on the list - and if so what were they doing driving it - it was supposed to be parked up?
Hope this gets sorted quickly and painlessly for you, and the Stang is back to pristine beauty asap.
I genuinely sympathise with you, but...
I'm quite frankly astonished you left such a stunning car in a long term airport car park let alone one that appears not to be run by one of the major operators. I would guarantee someone's been for a spin in it to cause that damage. Let's be honest if you had the keys, the owners offshore for some time, wouldn't you?*
I drive by Glasgow airport, pretty much every day, to get to and from work and I get to see all the long term car parks and how tightly packed the cars are that they've manouvered and squeezed in. I wouldn't park my company car in one let alone my pride & joy. As for some of the smaller operators - I wouldn't leave my pushbike with them.
*probably not - but you're not a security guard bored out of their skull at 3am and earning 50p & a cheese sandwich for a nights work.

Avril,
Not good.
Tonight (Tuesday 27th), I believe that Watchdog (BBC1 19:00) has a feature on airport 'secure' parking.
Might be worth a watch since it's so topical for you.
Cheers,
Eric

I have a feeling it will make me very sick watching it but I will give it a go. On the plus side my cousin is heading to LA in a week so he will help to send a mirror back for me. I just have to find a supplier.
who did you import with as i know litchfeild imports are one of the main uk suppliers and importers would they keep any parts in stock im sure they could fine you a supplier in the states www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/mustang.asp
I really wouldn't go with theirs "on the cheap". If they have no insurance then either they were driving a vehicle without insurance or they don't have sufficient cover for their premises.
Either way, it's a call to the cops to report the accident, then a call to YOUR insurers and get them to sort it out.
I would never accept "mate's brother's uncle's paintshop down that alley" as a place for repairs/resprays.
