Well after being mucked about with my spitfire trying to get the bodywork and respray done, im trying to find a reliable body shop in edinburgh regions who are willing to take on a respray, everyone i try seems to want to concentrate on fixing accident repairs and general small jobs.
anyone got any recomendations?

Steve Walker in Bathgate gets great reviews, never used them myself though.

Try Peter O'Malley at Eastern Western in Broxburn. He is a perfectionist. This is a massive commercial site that was voted UK bodyshop of the year in 2005. He's a petrolhead, so ring him up, tell him I sent you, and see how you get on. He does all our stuff for a reasonable price, so you can't go past the man!

steve says he is only taking on small jobs, same with everyone in edinburgh! is there any bodyshop that actually wants to do some bodywork rather than just touch ups!

Ive got the GT3 in at Brooklands nr Dalkeith. Came highly recommended from good sources - pick it up on Saturday am & will post the result. Price quoted seemed unreasonably good value.

You could try the Morrison Brothers - Morrisons Coachworks in Portobello - 2 legendary characters, and great at what they do.

What about Kirkness & Innes?

Ask to speak to Brian Kirkness, he is secretary of the Edinburgh MG club and a total petrolhead.

I believe their work is very good, but you do pay for it.

I would stay away from Edinburgh Sportscars from personal experience.

I've heard very good reports about Chic Doig's. Used to be based in Kirkcaldy, but moved to Cardenden in Fife. Might be a little further away than you want, but he's good.

I'm surprised Stevie W says he's only taking on small jobs - i've used him a lot over the years and he's always got a load of cars in , some of which are full respray jobs.

Maybe worth giving him a call again - a lot of the Subaru fraternity in Edinburgh/Lothian use Stevie.
