Evenin folks.

I've made the same commute from Glasgow to Aberdeen i don't know how many times now, however...

As you're approaching aberdeen, before the roadworks begin, there is a little white bungalow on your left, beside it is a speed camera. Approx 1/4 mile after that the roadworks / cones begin and there is a large 50mph sign.

tonight i went past the speed camera and it flashed me. Now, thinking back on it (ie, the last few times i've made the trip) - i seem to remember it being a 50 earlier than at the roadworks. Is it as far back as the bungalow and that camera? The roadworks used to extend further back, that much i remember.

The passenger in the car at the time commented that it was a 70 limit and it must've been an oncoming that triggered it.

The more i think about it the more i think it was a 50 limit, or it was a 50 limit, now back up to 70 and the speed setting on the camera hasn't been changed.

.... I don't know, i'm rambling now. Can someone who makes the journey tomorrow have a check for me and let me know what the limit is there? As i say, thinking back n it now i'm thinking 50 but i know i didn't pass a 50mph sign, i'd have thought this was confirmed by the huge 50mph sign as you enter the roadworks....

???

I've been back and forth along that road over the last couple of weekends visiting family. The first 50mph sign should be where the slip road off the Portlethen flyover meets the A90 Dual Carriageway.

Unfortunately it is a 50mph limit there due to the roadworks. The camera has been out of action for many months, and was only recently activated at 50mph, even though you are past the roadworks and most of the cones, and the NSL sign is in sight ahead.

There has been a discussion about it in the local newspaper, as they have been catching hundreds of people who are used to driving past at 70mph.

Is it digital or one of the old film ones? If it's the latter even though it flashed it might have run out of film.

If you are heading North, then the 50mph limit starts at the Portlethen flyover, and its a 50mph limit at the camera, as they have been working on the middle section of the road.

John is talking about the one going the other way, where you have already passed the "worst" of the roadworks and can see the NSL sign.

Suppose the bottom line is that they both fall into the 50mph zone regardless of which way you are going, and just keep your fingers crossed it had no film in it. Frustrating.

uch, it's not really a hassle.

i've passed it about 40 times in the past 3 months and really can't work out why i still thought it was a 70. preocuppied or whatever, it's not really a big deal.

Plus point is that my car is a company car, and my company is a car rental company, so it could've been any of my employees driving the car ;-)

i've not got any points just now anyway so i'll guess i'll just take it like a man
