I'll be there with a bit of luck
And I'm not bringing my Laptop this time Murray
Why not, it doesn't take up much room
I will be there, assuming I get off here, but I don't know if I will have the car with me, depends when I get home, I might only make the Sunday, but am still aiming for both.
Hi Guys, 117.02 was with only 3 drive shafts connected on the second lap from Butchers to the finish line, did 115 in practice.
TBH I was shitting myself on the back straight approaching the hairpin, flat out in 4rth, on the brakes and the back end of the car was jumping all over the place (flat out in 4rth = 140-150mph)

Better be dry! I'm nae standing in the pouring rain marshalling for you bug*ers!
for anybody that's not been to Fintray since last year:
The hairpin's a lot different - much faster.
Ruin's a lot different too and I think it'll make you alter your line from apex to exit. It should be faster too.
I want to see records broken and I want NO accidents!
As Mr EzyQ will be competing, I will be left to decide on entertainment of the day myself - you have a lot to live up to!
Last year's winner had his Impreza sideways before the hairpin, all four wheels spinning, and slid the whole way round whilst waving (yes waving!) and grinning at us marshals!
Gary: your pic and the story'll be in this week.

Ruin has a lot of logs on the inside of the corner! It makes the corner more of a 'tunnel' and I think it will make people slightly slower coming in but faster coming out.
The hairpin has had a heap of trees cut away so it now gets sunlight helping it dry (for the first time in about 50 years!) There is also a good bit more tarmac on the left coming into it allowing you to take it wider.
Ruin will change again once the logs are removed (they're back a bit from the track but its psychological) and the hairpin in simply improved. The new return road is complete and will allow for far better paddock conditions, getting more cars on tar and more cars on the higher (and therefore drier) ground.
The new return road should not require any extra braking compared to previously, but it does away with cars coming directly towards spectators and the gate-keeper.
A lot of the paddock work has been done in response to criticism (rightly) of the paddock conditions and as a result of the landowner's house sale/erection of new house.
