I was there Sunday, and a great day it was too. Lot's of interesting TVRs, although someone is going to have to explain all the mock vents on the the front wings of a Tagora (or whatever it is called). Great looking cars though.
David Gray at Lakefield Classics could do with help from the TVR detectives. He was at Doune with what looks like a very original 420SEAC wedge, but the scrutineers are giving him a hard time on the rear boot spoiler and demanding to see homoligation papers(!)at Knockhill. I know David is trying to compile as much info as possible to prove that the cars left the factory like that - if there are records /photographs of the 420 SEAC racing complete with the boot spoiler, David would be pleased to get copies, I am sure.

A quick google came up with this this and several pics here
I don't know if pictures extracted from the internet will convince the srutineers but could be worth a try, got to say I can understand the scrutineers scepticism the spoilers in the pictures do look like they could be an add on, but the pictures are consistent so they would appear to be factory fit.

I think one of the mags also tested a black one with the number plate NAS 7 Y in a black & silver vintage style.
I wanted one for years after that.
From what I can remember all the cars in mags had the full spoiler and vent set but I have a vague recollection of them saying that the spoiler was perhaps unnecessary or an option.
Not very helpful though.

Ah, an SEAC - Special Equipment Aramid Composite
...also known as Sausage Egg And Chips
Spoiler is standard. However, although the cars were all meant to be 'Aramid Composite' [aka kevlar], TVR hadn't quite got the hang of the stuff and many of the bodies rippled really badly. So a number went back to the factory to get common or garden GRP bodies, and I think (but can't confirm) some of the last 'SEAC' cars even left the factory in plain old GRP.
As to the filled-in bonnet vents on the SAGARIS, the car was designed with them open as the plan then was to race the car...but when they drove the prototypes on the road, stones and other cr@p came through and hit the windscreen. In typical TVR fasion, rather then redesign the now-completed moulds they just filled in the vents.

Nice story, but not correct. Cost was the driver to fill the vents - so not in typical fashion at all
