Best of luck to you mate. There are a huge number of people out there trying to do same thing. If you have any mates that run a company, or mates of mates then they should be your first point of contact.

Get yourself a copy of 'Flat out, flat broke' Perry McCarthy's autobiography (ex F1 driver and the first Stig on Top Gear). That book is a real eye opener. It'll give you some inspiration but also tell you what an absolute nightmare getting cash to go racing is !

Good one, Tuscan.

Have you tried a bank? Seriously? Try talking to their head of PR. They all have a tranche of money they divvy up after 1st April. I suspect you are not asking for a great amount. If your activity fits into their current sponsorship agenda they might listen to you. Obviously you have to be in a position to offer them some sort of social or publicity return, or both. It's worth a try.

As usual, you've missed my point.

aye min, did you sell the cabrio?

I got that sponsorship when I bought my mini - might be worth asking about some garages to see if they'd give you a couple hundred quid or something? Overton nae keen?

that's nae bad - I'm goin to sell the hot rod this month so hopefully I can cover costs when I sell it.

I tell you what, once go into the new job, I'll put a bit in the sport for you - a pic of you and the car and a bit of text about hillclimbing etc and mentioning you're looking for sponsorship.

aye the pug. once I sell it, I'll use the money from it to fund the work on the Nissan. It'll need everything that was on the mot failure sheet and probably a wee bit more (can't remember what it needs exactly but it definitely needs track rod ends, rear discs, 2 tyres. There's probably a whole lot more and I doubt it'll pass emissions at the moment).

Aye, if I can get a hand that would be superb. You'll have to have a right look at it and see what if you can see anything that needs done. I'm nae in a rush to get it done - don't think I'll do the 1st Fintray, but want to do the second one and alford.
