David Gillander is an approved superchip agent. I am thinking of having my BMW Z4 3.0 chipped to remove flat sports and increase power a little.

I have a post for this under the BMW section to discuss the remap, but I am looking to see if anyone has any experiance of David Gillander fitting it in Aberdeen.

I've had a few experiences with superchips.... none too good.

The maps to give (off the shelf) - just give assumptions on where you need fuel, regardless if do or not. So they just basically richen the map up a bit.

The 'mappable' customer key type one is a farce (not sure if they still sell it).... Its supposed to be remappable (it is) but the maps are again, just assumptions.

I had an engine with a mappable Superchip - i had a new manifold fitted and required the idle raised to deal with the cams. The raised the idle no prob but bloody hell did they make the car run rich.

In the end I kept the superchip in (to control the idle LOL ) and had a UNICHIP fitted by Jim King.... this was fitted and mapped on rollers for £340 (a few years ago now) and made the world of difference to the car! Power and torque were up, and the map was basically just leaned out!

AVOID!
