eric, what on earth are you on about?!!

I presume you mean it's a bit quiet (as ever until you or me starts a thread like this!)

well to keep this thread going, (I hope) I will have to dream up some news!

Difficult as the Elise hasn't been out for a proper run for weeks. It was out last week just once, where, in a 1.5mile journey, I met another Elise. T-reg, titanium grey S1. Anyone know who that is?

All my driving has been in the Pug 309 'Hot Rod' or the work Polo. The Hot Rod's good fun though - the crappy tyres mean lift off oversteer is always on the cards!

Haven't seen anything interesting for ages

Noyce!
It'll be good to see it in action.

I've been doing very little, 'cept 3.5K miles on the Exige...

Some video of Cadwell Park trip here (33meg windoze media):

Hardly using my car at the mo' but when I do it is 120miles at a time on some nice roads.
Went for a nice short drive to Benderloch on Sunday, lovely roads including some single tracks at 30-40mph.
Also spotted an interesting Lime green and black Capri.
Ali the video was nice, what happened at the end? brake or tyre failure?

My mate Shug, I think it was brain failure.
Nah, he just locked up a front coming into the hairpin (very end of the day and it was getting damp and slippy under the trees). Ended up a very low speed excursion but there's not much run off there (or anywhere at Cadwell)...

Did you like the spinning Alfa? He ran wide at the previous corner and we were all backing off. Not quite as hairy as it looked. Impressive the way he managed to completely block the track.

Cheers,
Ali

Excellent news!!! It's been a while since I heard a Chevy running...got the surge tank for my EFI project this week so hopefully I'll get my beast chugging away again before the year is out.

Cracking video of Cadwell. I'll have to make it down there at some point. Would be nice to be good enough (car and driver) to catch some air on The Mountain like this:

Dave, would be difficult to avoid getting a bit airborne there in your Ultima! But its the opposite side of Cadwell (open bit) where you can have really have fun in the big sports car. Coppice could be seriously quick, although I found it difficult to summon up the courage to go through anything like as fast as the car was capable of. Certainly worth a visit.

Willie,

will be great to see it on track again. We're aiming for an event in March if you'll have it all done by then

I'd like to think it could be 'finished enough' to run on track by March, but given everything else has taken 4 times as long as I estimated I'm not sure. Plan is to try to fit in a few track days to get the bugs ironed out (and have some fun too!) before I try to complete everything for road registration...so if I was ready for a session in March I'd sure be a happy bunny.
