Has anyone any experience of using Finesse Coatings or the firm in Inverurie. I've got 4 Ford alloys need doing. Both seem OK and charge the same for powder coating.
cheers

PPS in Inverurie are definitely the ones to go to. Top class job and top class finish on the wheels. Got mine done last week.

::Edited:: Never realised it was you John! definitely go to PPS and say I sent you.

Things good?

regards
John

Thanks guys, PPS it is. What colour do you think goes well with black, silver, gold or anthracite grey?

I just found this forum yesterday.
Cheers

John, I've got the anthracite my wheels on the Elise and its really nice - has a wee metallic sparkle through it. I think for your car, it would be nice as would silver.

(The pink wheels are just one of about 4 sets all of different colours which feature on that scoob - all done by PPS.)

I was in visiting Keith when those wheels were being painted. What a laugh! I think they look pretty good actually..... I wouldn't be brave enough though!

Ross,

Both Finesse and PPS charge £40 + vat, each wheel.

Anyone know of a place to get split-rims refurbed? I've struggled to find anyone near Edinburgh who'll do them, but I'd easy travel a bit further afield.

The wheels are shiny on the rim, but satin on the middle bit (stop me if this it too technical) so I think they'd need split and then reassembled.

I've heard some horror stories about places that split them to refurb but don't put them back together properly, so it'd be good to hear if anyone's got personal experience.

if you can travel to Aberdeen then PPS would be the people to talk to but it is a fair distance to travel

Cheers - spoke to PPS but they'd only be able to powder coat them all as one piece.

Any others?

What si the problem with spliting split rims anyway?? (you can tell Ive never done it) I thought it was a case of carefully undoing each bolt on the rim and making sure you put them back together properly and properly torqued??

It would be kinda handy to know this before I inadvertently do it myself and make a dodo of it......

I have a set of RAYS GT-C polished rims with painted centres which could go with tidy up - do PPS do polishing as well as painting?
