Having a great day spotting all the petrolheads out with their toys when I got pulled on the North Deeside road out to Banchory. 78 in a 60 so 3 points and a fine plus a warning to change the spacing on my plate.

They said they are clamping down on speeding at the moment. Great place to do it hiding the car out of sight in a farm on a long straight.

You have been warned....

that sucks

Did they try to advise you on why the speed you were diong was inappropriate for the conditions or was it just black / white, you were over so you were done?

I hate seeing them out on country roads, but in our village they go speeding down a hill behind the house in a 30 doing at least 50-60 and you never see a policeman here.!!!

It was pretty blackand white. I knew I was between 75 and 80 where they said they clocked me so no arguement over it. They did spout some rubbish about mirco climates and icey patches, bs really, I'm just another punter on the list to make their targets.

Bummer!

Where exactly?

The reason I ask is that I'm here.

OK, so ...

  • By the farm shop
  • Banchory end of the Drum straight
  • On the left as you're heading West

Is that correct?

Cheers,

Eric

My mate got done there in his Elise a couple of weeks ago.

Personally I always avoid North Deeside road, B9077 is much nicer...

I must have been right outside your place when they gave me the ticket! I was planning to head back along South Deeside road anyway so when I indicated to turn onto the A957 he put his blue lights on for me to stop.

Just looked at the ticket again and it says Woodside Farm if that makes it clearer to you.

Yes, the Drum Straight. Close to home for me too, but as I live in the Drumoak hinterland I usually turn off on the road towards Garlogie just before, hence avoiding unfortunate brushes with radar/laser toting chaps in that favourite location (not that I would be exceeding national limit of course).

Just as well because they would really have enjoyed pulling you over in the Ultima

car by the way - possibly the only thing that would tempt me away from Cerbie.

Does anyone know who has the Atom I saw on the Garlogie Road yesterday?

I got done on the A9 last month. Dry, completely empty, sunny, rural duel carridgeway with armco down the middle. Just me and the radar trap. I wasn't even in top gear!

could be the winner of that competition that was on the go recently - something in the bon accord centre with the top prize of an Atom? didn't see it myself but seemed a strange prize

They are moeny grabbing scrum on this road - used to get done all the time when I lived up here.

Bugger all to do up here - would have to have a detector up here, can get away with it more down south.
